Re: Does The Show Attract more Mature players?

I think maybe I should change the name of this thread to " Remember When".
Speaking of which;; I had the Honor and Privelige of attending the Big Red Machine Reunion today. Saw the unveiling of the Joe Morgan SCULPTURE, And seeing the Great Eight once again taking their positions was straight out of Field of Dreams.
    Including Pete Rose.
There will never be another Big Red Machine, perhaps the single most entertaining team in the history of sports.
I say that because of how many guys on that team were just fun to watch, were outspoken . and singularly great at what they did. Their banter was as pointed as their gameplay.

Now.. Where can find JUST the 75 or 76 Reds in their entirety? I mean an accurate representation too. Not one with Pete Rose hitting third and a 99 power rating.

Do those rosters have faces completed as well as ratings?
Silly to some I know....but I can't play without that being completed as well.

      Thanks.

Yes, BieBig's classic rosters have the faces done. It's a good set, with 50-90 players from every franchise. I think it's labeled something like OASTR in the vault.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

They will be in my Great Teams set.(got about 8 teams totally completed and a lot of others are close)
If you use my 1973 Post Season set....you're almost there with them.(you can even grab George Foster off the 1984 Post Season set and just adjust his age and some ratings)

Re: Does The Show Attract more Mature players?

Just watched the Cubs @ Brewers game in my current Show season, as I am following the real MLB day-to-day. I saw something that I have never seen in all the baseball simulations I have ever played--a steal of home. And it won the game! Here's how it went down:

Brewers erase a two-run Cub lead in the bottom of the ninth, tying the score 4-4 on a two-run double by Martin Maldonado off of closer Marmol. Brewers' manager Roenicke sends in September callup Brian Buffinton in to run for Maldonado at second, as he is the potential winning run (game is playing cpu v cpu, by the way). Next batter, Carlos Gomez, reaches on an slow roller down the first base line as he avoids a tag from 1B Rizzo, who then throws too late to new P Loe covering first base, sending Buffinton to third. Roenicke now sends up Donnie Murphy to pinch-hit for the pitcher. With the count 1-0, he calls for the squeeze! The Cubs smell it and throw a pitchout! The pitch is just far enough into the lefthanded hitters batters' box to allow Buffinton to slide under a desparate lunge by C Castillo--and the Brewers win on a walk-off steal of home! It was a big win for the Brewers as they still have hope for one of the wildcard spots, with the Cubs needing to sweep this four-game series to have any hope of their own. But they have dropped the two games so far in the series--the first because of bad defense and this heeartbreaker in the ninth. I guess it's "Wait 'til next Year" again for my beloved Cubbies (Cub fan since 1971). The drought extends into my video game/simulation world. They have never won an any season I have played!
