People will always have that preconceived notion due to that fact that they've all been burned by other companies which is understandable, but as you said that's never been SCEA's way of doing business.

To alienate the PS3 fanbase at all...yet alone in the very first year of the new console life would be abhorrent.
It is naturally going to become the red-headed stepchild...but for SCEA to ignore it from the onset of the PS4 is not only not how they operate, but would make bad business sense.
There are still a lot of people playing on the PS3.
(I'm NOT one of them once '14 drops...but that's irrelevant)

Re: MLB 14 The Show Features Online Franchise - New Screenshots and Videos From Taiwa
Oh boy! Must we argue! I mean in the end all we want is a great work of art that is MLB The Show. That we can all agree on.
It is perfectly okay for people to make suggestions to what should be added/changed in game. Not everyone on the Dev team is going to be a hardcore baseball fanatic and may overlook small details about Coors Field that would drive a Rockies fan insane. It's only logical.
That said people need to look at it in a realistic light. You cannot expect a dev team to add every small detail. Often times other facets of development take first priority. In this year's case, the PS4 version of the game is likely going to take first priority with playability of the game taking precedent over some of the finer details. You want a game that plays well before you want a game that looks flawless.
So yes both sides are right. You are allowed to ask for additions to the game. That's how any successful business model operates: focusing on customer needs and wants. In the case of entertainment, that takes an even more pronounced role. But at the same time be realistic about it. All you can do is ask, don't whine or complain or downplay the quality of the product because such additions were not made (not accusing anyone of doing so). Simply keep it real and realize that many, many, many hours of hard work were put into building the game (from the ground up in the PS4 case). Don't forget development isn't flawless and they run into many hiccups and game breaking bugs that must be fixed before release too. Time is of the essence. They do what they have time to do. That's it. Rant over.
If you want the next game to come with a hovercraft, that's your right to express as such, period. As long as it's done so respectfully (there's a difference between saying you want something and antagonizing the devs for not already putting it in), then what's the problem?Comment

Sorry but it doesn't work that way, Last gen sales have stagnated, even software is drastically down, often even with less install base, new gen sales are higher, people are ready for a new gen the last one lasted too long. (Gt6 is a good example)
You cannot expect devs to split time and water down the ps4 version because some are not going to jump to next gen right away. people who paid 399 for a ps4 deserve a game that is not held back by outdated tech.Comment

I am gladly sacrificing a week's worth of food/groceries for a PS4, after the game comes out. It's okay, humans can survive off water and The Show.Comment

Not sure if there is enough time but the signs at Minute Maid left field are being moved before the 2014 season.

I'm sorry, but that was definitely the vibe I got from some posts in this thread.
That once the PS4 was released......the PS3 automatically became a dead system and the PS3 version should receive little if any attention.
Now, while I won't be playing the PS3 version....I would like to express that...at least for a few years for most people to be able to get a PS4....I would hope the PS3 version gets at least some updating other than the roster and any significant changes. It's true...that it is indeed at the end of it's cycle and has been stretched to the limit as far as additions...but tweaks and fixes should at the very least be included IMO(and feature if possible).
I'm an "everybody goes" guy. I don't like to leave anyone behind.
"Never leave anyone on the fire floor"(even if it means going to the Burn Center....does anyone know the gaming equivalent?!)

well the last two years we have been told how the PS3 version was maxed out, so I would assume they fine tune gameplay and any new features (online franchise) would be saved for the PS4Comment

Ps3 version will continue until it does not make money anymore. It will be limited in what it offers as time goes on but I see it continuing until it turns red.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Like I said...." through "natural" progression...the PS4 version will pull away greatly from it's PS3 brother.
