Re: So... I saw some MLB 14 The Show screenshots today for the PS4...
I agree it may not be PS2 to PS3, but IMO there is still a really nice difference and this is just the beginning. I think FIFA looks really really solid and that is honestly almost a port of current gen. The details of everything just look so much more fine tuned and clear, especially in 1080 instead of 720. For some reason though I think The Show is going to be the most dramatic change of any of the sports titles released so far. It should be that way though with the full year or so to develop it, even though preparations started a while ago. Looking at the few screen shots of PS4 that they've released so far, I can just tell the colors will be so much better and not as washed out. Don't get me wrong PS3 graphics were tremendous but to me the walls and some other stadium objects always had a washed out effect. The colors just didn't pop out and the crowd was very blurry as well. I think the PS4 will take that away.Harvey's BetterComment

People really overrating the ps3. YEs games look nice on it, but thats partly because we are conditioned to those graphics. There are many low res, muddy textures, lack of detail, Jaggies, lack of tesselation, many other advanced graphics features last gen. They are still dx9.............
I have a PS4, and recently went back to play BF4 on ps3...it really is ugly compared to the ps4, I mean ugly. We are talking 512 MB ram, to 8, and 5 generations higher Video card with a lot more compute power. 720P to 1080p alone is a pretty big jump.
The first launch titles are only scratching the surface, think resistance fall of man to uncharted 2 type improvements.
Keep in mind, compressed videos, screenshots are a poor way to see the differences. In motion, the better physics, lighting, details really jump out.Comment

Yeah, I'm really hoping for some superior graphical effects like GI, tessellation, hair/cloth physics and the like, all while maintaining 1080p/60 fps. I don't know if the PS4 is powerful enough to have all of these things running at once, but sports games are traditionally less intensive on the hardware so fingers crossed lolBakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

The PS3 verison doesn't look as life like as people make it to be.. It's nice, but it's easy to tell its not a real game (if you play sports games). If it only looks slightly better, then I'll be very disappointed. But PsNation said there were really big additions that we've been asking for.. So this year will be more of a total package than just graphics.Last edited by bwiggy33; 02-11-2014, 09:46 PM.NHL-Minnesota Wild
