Our lead graphics programmer just cracked the code on our PS4 lighting engine about an hour ago. When I show you again it's going to look better. I might even do a comparison of the two.
Can't wait to show you guys this man now I have to re-take all the screen shots I took already for Thursday.
Actually I don't even care about the hype. I just wanted an excuse to post another Rerun gif.

The game play will be there, the looks just help immerse you into the game. Having played NBA 2k14 on the X360 then PS4 I can tell you anyone who says the graphics are only a little better is either BLIND or has a really crappy TV. And that is 2k! I can only imagine the treat we are in for from SCEA!Comment

Trying to wrap my head around this statement haha. Ho do such things like a lighting engine work. Do you write this awesome code to make a lighting upgrade but then you have to crack the code so it actually works in the game or are there a bunch of lighting engines available for the PS4 that you have to mold/tune for the specific game you work on?
I think a great lighting engine has the power to lift a game to another level. Especially a game like The Show that plays (mostly) outside. You have day to evening transitions and stadium specific shades that change during the game that can effect the game (pitchers hitting the shade or outfields getting covered in shade etc.).

I've been waiting for a new lighting engine, if this is done properly, We are in for a real treat graphically. Hopefully stadiums reflect their real life counterparts.Comment
