Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
The one I'm most excited about (and came totally out of left field) is the Dynamic Difficulty, almost to the point where I might pick up the PS3 version ahead of the PS4. Knowing Brian_SCEA it won't be as simple as looking at runs and hits scored or allowed. It probably uses the information it stores in those analysis screens in order to grade you. Things like your plate discipline, how often you make solid contact, that sort of thing.
I'm probably one of the few that liked this back when Madden tried to do it, but I have no doubt this will be way better than Madden IQ.
I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more about this because B Ma loves to talk about this stuff.
PS3 or Vita...I'll probably pick one of them up and trade it in once the PS4 version is out.Last edited by bcruise; 02-17-2014, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Maybe a reach but....
I don't think they mentioned pitch counts being on the scorebug now, but we already know it is in the game based on the videos from Taiwan.
So maybe there a few other small things like that that weren't mentioned.NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

Contract extensions mid-season were not mentioned either. I'm hoping the dev blogs will confirm it.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
I'm most excited for the presentation and new stadium environement details, as well as the fly-ins and fan interaction with signs and such. LOVE the firing/hiring mid season option too. I'll get more excited once I see some gamplay vids of PS4, or at least some more sreenshots.
Well done SCEA and as always great job Ramone relaying feedback from OS to the dev team. No other development team has as much passion in making a game FOR the players, and no other fan base of any game out currently has the the true luxury of having such a "for the people" dev team who consistently delivers year after year after year. Wow!Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
I just can not get over all the "little things" that have been added to the PS4 version
1. Completely re-done catcher animations suite (over 150 all-new catcher animations)
2. Left-handed infielders
3. New baserunning paradigm (New animation core and logic)
4. CPU plate discipline logic has been re-written
5. Completely re-worked Plate Coverage Indicator (PCI)
6. Japan League-style and slap-hitter swing types (PS4 Only)
7. Team specific, player specific, team generic crowd signs
8. Over 350 new fielding and batting animations
9. New pickoff cameras
10. Bat and Ball Boys
11. Pitcher picking up and throwing down rosin bag
12. New assortment of organ recordings
13. Over 350 new fielding and batting animations (PS4 Only)
14. New dynamic catch position indicator for fielding
15. New dynamic gameplay cameras for batting and fielding
16. Intro Fly-Ins (PS4 Only)
True Broadcast Presentations (PS3 & PS4 Only) - The Show’s presentation crew has taken on a tall task for MLB 14: streamlining the game while enhancing the reality and increasing the variety of the experience. Pace of play is a focal point for the team as we strive to immerse the user in an even more engaging simulation. Heavy emphasis has also been placed on the stadium environment to feature the upgraded crowd actors, jumbotrons, LED boards, dugouts, specific stadium audio and a more engaged, responsive and unique crowd.
-On the commentary side, the three-man booth of Matt Vasgersian, Eric Karros and Steve Lyons return for their second season together. This year's title will emphasize the three announcers in a more interactive, conversational style, yet will also continue to mine the world of baseball to find intelligent, timely and compelling commentary concerning today's teams and players. The overall goal is for the game to get deeper, and for the announcers to better adapt to changing game conditions -- including rising the enthusiasm level when the situation dictates.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
[*]The Evolution of Road to The Show continues (All platforms) - First among the major improvements is a completely revamped advancement system, complete with improved logic and the removal of advancement goals. Also being introduced is a new beginning to a player’s RTTS career with the Topps Amateur Showcase, a series of games against other draft prospects. Additionally, the training system, logic, screens and modes have all been revamped to provide users with a more engaging experience.
- Other changes include a new player-creation process, the reintroduction of the “broadcast” presentation perspective as an option, and a re-envisioned Catcher Mode, to name a few (PS3 & PS4 Only).
[/list]
This alone is worth a hundred bucks.
