Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)

I have a question. Since the user can fire/hire managers during the season, will the CPU do the same? I've read through every page and didn't see the question so hopefully I didn't miss it somewhere if it was asked.

As for the dynamic catch position indicator, I am very interested in hearing more in detail about it. In general though I just hope the overall fielding game is improved. The massive amount of animations that are being added to the game should no doubt help, but hopefully the movement of the players is better.

Another one I kind of looked over was the reworking of the CPU's plate discipline. I'm hoping this means a few less swings on first pitches. I know the CPU adapts to how you pitch throughout the course of a game, but it still seemed a bit excessive with how many times the CPU would swing at first pitches.

No. According to Knight (I believe) it would take a large rewrite of franchise logic and it isn't likely to appear this year.

Forgive me if I've missed this, but has there been any word on whether or not the new dynamic difficulty can be turned off?

Yes, you have to manually select Dynamic difficulty in the Gameplay Options for it to be active. Otherwise, you can still select from one of the traditional difficulty levels (Rookie, Veteran, All-Star, HOF, Legend), and your difficulty will not change based on your play.

Would you have any details on when the game would determine lowering the dynamic difficulty of say batting or pitching? Would it take something close to a 10 game losing streak before the game determines to lower the difficulty? Or is it on a per game basis?

I'm wondering if we can finally call or call off the cutoff man after the ball is thrown from the outfield. This is a very important aspect in my opinion. Letting the ball through or not last minute by a (for example) first baseman when there is a possible play at the plate could mean the difference between an out or not. All based on the accuracy of the throw.

Besides adding authenticity to how the game is played this would bring an extra level of suspense to the table on the field.

I'm sure the yellow shirts are not possible yet, but I was just curious.

How cool would it be if we could create our own fan signs in the future.

I'm sure it's not as cut and dry as a losing streak. Losing 10 in a row by one run or getting blown out in 10 games is completely different.

To me, dynamic wouldn't be a static evaluation process. It could start as an at bat per at bat evaluation, then game by game, then 10 games, etc. As it starts to learn your skill level it shouldn't have to evaluate your skill quite so often.

At the same time, to see your skill progression or degeneration it would also need to evaluate big chunks of games to spot an overall trend.

This is a very, VERY minor thing, but I want my curiosity satisfied, since I said it in the name list last year.

Is the first name Sadaharu in the game? We already have the surname Oh...

If this is the wrong thread I apologize, but will all the recent signings in arbitration and recent extensions (a la' Braves) make it into the game?

I read through the comments and I didn't see an answer to a few of my questions. I love the new additions but was wondering.

                                1. Will they have stat tracking that will keep over multiple seasons? High Heat Baseball back in 2002 had this for PS2. It was setup just like a baseball card and it was helpful to be able to track your minor league players seasons by seating their stats layer out each year. Also for MLB guys as well. Currently I write it all into an excel spreadsheet but I would love not to do that anymore.

                                2. Anything about records. I know they have a small page of the records but was hoping to see an expanded list of say top 20 in each category and even team records. Baseball is all about its history and would be great to see our players chase records and see where the stack up thoughout the history their team and/or league.

                                Thanks
