Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
My question for those who have it, how do you have it already? :-)
But more baseball type question, in all the years I have played this game, and 14 will be about my 4th I think, I have never, ever, never never ever, seen an outfielder or infielder, make an error on a pop up. Never.
Yes they may miss running it down in the OF and it falls in, but I have never seen an error on a popup, IF or OF. Sliders do not affect this at all either in my experience.
It sure makes going halfway as an RTTS runner on base easy. You know if its a routine popup, its going to be caught, so why bother going halfway, just scamper back to your base.
Is that fixed yet?
Thanks.Comment

What's deal with coop? I heard there was going to be an online coop mode coming out. Is this true and if so can someone expand on what it's going to be like? ThanksComment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Yeah... actually, they already sent an update to the PS3. I got this list off of the Vita, which I guess doesn't have an updated roster yet.
So I just looked on my PS3 version, and it has three separate Free Agent "categories." I don't get it. It's like "Free Agents 1," "Free Agents 2," and "Free Agents 3." Each one has different guys in it. But it looks more or less like the list I made, so they must be prepping one more roster update for tomorrow/tonight.Last edited by torpidbeaver; 03-31-2014, 03:19 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Can someone please confirm if The Show's abysmal, and somehow rarely mentioned career stat tracking has seen any improvement?
Am I now able to view how many times a batter has struck out in his career, or how many hits a pitcher has given up? I don't want to get too greedy and actually expect to view career awards.
The Show is definitely a great game on the field, but it amazes me year after year SCEA gets away with little to no effort in the career stat tracking category. I know a handful of stats are present on the player card, but it is extremely limited and far from what should be expected out of a deep baseball simulation; this makes it very difficult for me to dig deep into a franchise. It's also shocking to me there is not more outcry about it considering how heavily baseball is measured in statistics. I certainly hope this changes for next gen, but from what I've heard thus far, or better put haven't heard, my expectation are not too high.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Bucks | Milwaukee BrewersComment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
I saw quite a few OF'er errors in 13, which was a 1st. Im guessing it should be even more realistic this year. I saw poor fielders like Choo and Matt Holiday not only missplay ball but also drop them last year. Although it was a edited roster so that might be why, cause they were rated low where thye should be, as whoever does the ratings for SCEA typically rates household names to high.
I do hope they take care of it. Sounds like a lot of overhaul this year.
Another thing I think was weird in RTTS is how much bunting the AI team does. I always play first base, so see a lot of plays. 2 outs, bases loaded, and or 2 strike count, guys who would never bunt IRL etc. An amazing amount of 2 strike bunt attempts, almost all go foul also on the 2 strike count ones.

So tomorrow I start again, no longer a starter on the A's, but a snot nosed kid in double A Rockhounds. LOLComment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Hmmm, that is curious. I've played literally 100s of games, granted just about all in RTTS in 2013, and like I say, have never seen anybody flub it. If they are under it, its a done deal. Misplay I may have seen, but never just a flub, due to sun, lights, or just plain human error.

I have also seen an interesting animation where a player runs then turns to pivot too early, undercutting the ball, then stumbles as he pivots, resulting in a pretty hilarious-looking flub.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Just to add a different perspective, I have seen a few downright drops by OF standing right under a fly ball this year. Less than a handful, but 3-4 for sure, and all while sitting dead-red in the middle of the landing region (so not moving at all).

Maybe I've done that every year, solve one problem, creates another.Comment
