Re: MLB 14 The Show Impressions From the Community (PS Vita)

Anybody having trouble with baserunning? Seem to have a lot of trouble in Rtts when going for a double and the line turns red 1/3 of the way to second and there is definitely a double on, Is that the assist kicking in? had a bit of trouble at 3rd as well with stopping and starting etc
What is the definitive control for base running?
Read the manuals and not entirely sure what going on, should i be holding the stick or just flicking it once, should i be pressing the button for the base?
    Very confused!
First Impressions of the game are good though,
Hitting is not nearly as much of a nightmare as before,if anything seems a touch too easy but im still hitting in aa (iv gone straight from 12 to 14 the show so not sure if there was an improvement in 13)
The draft is quite cool as well,
The only time iv had a frame rate issue was after a home run,
apart from that it has been perfect, takes a few games to get use to the fielding dynamic but thats an interesting feature

i give it a 9 as well. there are always things that could be better, but this is a full-fledged sports game on a handheld. I can play a franchise mode on the go and get a full experience. This is the only game that you can say that about.

I've never had so much fun as I have playing with player lock and quick counts on. Im basically doing a RTTS with Bryce Harper each game takes 5-10 minutes. Don't know if its just me, but catching fly balls in first person view is one of the most challenging/rewarding things in this game, and I have so much with it. Each ball hit to me is an adventure. One of the best features in the game imo.

Love this year's version. I think the graphics have taken a small step back, but the game plays great so I don't mind.

Am I missing something or is there no way to check on relievers' stamina while in game??

Love the game as usual. I didn't think I would be one of the fans of the generated counts, but it does move the game along nicely. My issues with it though are 1) It makes sacrifice butting kind of weird. What I mean is say its the 8th and you want to sac bunt, it is odd having your batter start with a 2-2 count and then looking at sacrificing.

              2) I think once and a while (I haven't noticed if it happens now, if it does my bad) I think a batter should start with a 0-0 count. There are quite a few occurrences where a batter first pitch swings.

Just my .02. Cant wait for the ps4 version, my vita will be worn out by then.

                Couple of impressions...

                1) I figured it would be a bit stale because there is only so much SCEA can fit onto the Vita, but I'm really enjoying it this year. The knew dynamic camera, quick counts, the new menus and maybe a bit of sharper graphics make this feel like more than a roster update for sure!

2)I'm having no trouble with stuttering or framerate drops. Everything plays smooth. (have the disc)

3)The new fielding icon to catch fly balls takes some getting used to, but it makes catching balls by outfielders more realistic and based on their ratings. Holy cow, why am I still trying to play Lucas Duda in left field? lol

4)Because I used 30 team control, sometimes in the past versions it would take a while or hang up to cycle through all the teams or look at rosters, but now it moves very fast and smooth.

If the file transfers back and forth with the PS4 work as they should, this is definitely worth the money!

This is probally an easy question and I'm just missing it, but during the RTTS how do u see where the ball is going I'm running and have no idea if its caught in the gap etc. Is their something I hit or is it changing the camera view. I also am very happy that commentary is back during the rtts , I hated just the fan noise.

Try using the right thumbstick. That usually controls the camera. It's how I watch the 2B/SS when I'm on second and I take a lead.

I promise this is the last time I'll ask... But is there a way to see relievers stamina when going to warm up pitchers? It doesn't seem like it's there as it was last year.

im very happy with the game on vita this year, it feels a lot better than last year, a worthy upgrade for sure. Hit variety and new camera are awesome in this years game. Noticing a lot of nice new animations as well..SCEA hit it out of the park with this one.

I would like to know this as well. I can't tell who in my bullpen is tired when I pick someone to warm up.

Yeah same here. Doesn't look like you can, hopefully it gets fixed.

This is kind of a big issue... Hopefully someone from SCEA will see this.

This was an issue in a previous version of the game. Don't remember which year, but I remember how annoying it was. They fixed it, though.
