Not that this hasn't been talked to death already but I also think it's unrealistic and yeah, for me, it does ruin the fun of hitting a homerun. Half the time, the guy hitting the HR would never react the way the player does in the game, killing realism again. And yes, I do want to see the ball's trajectory for the same reason you do when you watch a game: to see where it went, to guess how far it was, to see whether it was more deep than high, whether it reached the first or second deck. The dramatic cam takes all the "baseball" out of arguably one of the most exhilarating moments in the game. It should be the opposite. Broadcast cam for the HR, and then MAYBE a player shot from behind the mound on replay.

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Hit a no doubter with Tex last night and got the glorious pull back cam. God I love that.
So happy in the patch it will be used 75% of the time. And I have little doubt next year…..the toggle is back in for us.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Anybody already seeing after the patch the 25-75% change in HR annimations as mentioned by Russell?Comment

Re: How to turn HR camera off
2 out of my last 3 have been the pull back camera and not the HR camera.
I need a much bigger sample to put this to bed......but a good start.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 04-24-2014, 09:48 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Russell said it will only trigger 25% of the time, you are saying it shows 75% of the time isn't that the opposite of what we want? We want less pullback/HR celebration camera...
I did some limited tests but like others I am seeing it more around 75%, not the 25% like we want/was stated.Comment

Re: How to turn HR camera off
In my first franchise game after the patch last night I saw 3 homeruns and never saw the "HR" cam at all. It was nice. I was the Indians at the Tigers and I was facing Cabrera and the bases were loaded. I was pitching him outside and he took it the opposite way to right field. I saw the "baseball" cursor showing were the ball would land and followed it back as it went up over the wall and the ball landed 10 rows into the seats. It was awesome to not see that canned animation and have some suspense.
Later in the game I hit 2 no doubters and it never changed to the HR cam so for me, in a limited game, I see a huge improvement. Now.....in my previous 15 or so games....I can only remember ever seeing the "non HR" camera approach once or twice compared to 16-17 times for the "HR cam".....so we are off to a decent start. I hope.Comment

Sorry for the inconvience, i mean that 25% is still HR/pullback camera and 75% will be the old "flying baseball through the stadium" camera.Comment

Re: How to turn HR camera off
I was responding to A&S :P It seems after the patch that 75% of the time is still the HR/Pullback exaggerated catcher takes his mask off camera... which is backwards. That should be 25%.
I am going to play today it's still too early to tell. I am not very good at hitting homers!Comment

If this is the case than SCEA has some explaining to do:

With the HR cam it's playing for 100% of all the no doubt HR's. We changed it so that it will only play for 25% of them this is a happy medium.
The report is closed so we all think that it was fixed in the patch......Comment

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Yeah to clarify...post patch. Played a game last night. Hit 3 no doubters......got the great pull back cam 2 times and only saw the HR Cam once.I was responding to A&S :P It seems after the patch that 75% of the time is still the HR/Pullback exaggerated catcher takes his mask off camera... which is backwards. Limited sample size......but the pull back is certainly working again and I will report back after a lot more games.
Before the patch I only saw it once in 30 plus games. So in one game post patch I saw it twice in a row on no doubters....then the HR cam.
I am pretty sure they patched it. Again need a much bigger sample size. In any case......it is not a game killer at all. I can't believe some posts I have seen about it being a game killer.....I think that is really extreme. But hey to each their own.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Oh I got it. I was confused by your terminology of 'pull back cam' you mean the normal fielding cam? That is good news indeed!Yeah to clarify...post patch. Played a game last night. Hit 3 no doubters......got the great pull back cam 2 times and only saw the HR Cam once.

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Any chance we get some clarification on the issue having been officially attended to, and an update on whether the option to turn that camera off altogether will be forthcoming?
If not, and this is not a "Hey Developer" thread, so be that as it may, can we possibly get an idea as to why this particular feature was disabled.
It makes absolutely no sense, and if an explanation was made as to why it somehow does make sense, especially as we have heard year after year that even though features change and progress with time, we make it a point to keep the old options available, I would accept it and move on?
Meter pitching? Yeah, SEGA Genesis called, and wants their twenty-year-old feature back. But alas, we still have the option to look at a half moon arc, with glowing red and yellow lights during a pitch...?
Can I trade in the animation of the fans falling into the field of play (seriously, still?) going after a foul ball for the HR Presentation Cam toggle?

Re: How to turn HR camera off
Agree 100% I would add the stupid blue circle with no option as another thing that just kills the defensive side for me as well. Makes me wonder why these decisions are made and by who? Put whatever you like in the game just let us turn it off please..Not that this hasn't been talked to death already but I also think it's unrealistic and yeah, for me, it does ruin the fun of hitting a homerun. Re: How to turn HR camera off
Same here.
I am seriously interested in who's idea it was who said 'lets take some dev time out of the game to take this toggle option and remove it and force them to watch a celebration cam 25 percent of the time'.
my main thing is how does it make the game better?Comment
