Ramone mentioned in the video today that the trade logic is the same as last year for the PS4 version. So I assume it is the same on both PS3 and PS4. He did mention that teams will not trade players vital to their team like Mike Trout.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Absolutely have to share this game result. Somehow I got my highest hit and run totals of the young season with the following lineup, which I fielded to rest as many starters as possible before a long stretch of upcoming games.
9 runs and 12 hits from these cats:
Fuld, CF
Gentry, RF
Moss, DH
Cespedes, LF
Callaspo, 3B
Norris, C
Barton, 1B
Punto, SS
Sogard, 2B
AND ... my first CG shutout of the year, courtesy of AJ Griffin, who allowed 4 H, 3 BB and notched 8 K.
All in a game I was prepared to throw away in order to have my horses fresh for the upcoming week.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Just finished the All-Star Game in my first season of a franchise with the Mets. The Amazin's are a surprising 53-42 and 1 game ahead of the Braves for first place in the NL East. Matt Harvey was the starting pitcher for the NL in the ASG, and David Wright was the starting 3rd baseman. Daniel Murphy and Curtis Granderson also represented the Mets at the ASG.
The only significant move I've made to my roster is sign Stephen Drew to be the starting SS. That, and leave Matt Harvey on the team even though he is done for the season in real life. I need to find a more reliable leadoff hitter at the trade deadline. Eric Young Jr. is 2nd in the NL in stolen bases but is hurting my run production by hitting for just a .219 average.
I mentioned earlier in this thread that Bartolo Colon dipped several points after the first month of the season. Now at the all-star break, Colon has dropped 11 points overall, from 81 to 70. Every one of his major pitching attributes have fallen somewhere between 8-10 points. Despite a 9-5 record with a 2.59 ERA, I think I'm going to have to go with a different option in the 2nd half of the season if I hope to hold on to a playoff spot.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Just posted my 2nd CG shutout of the year, this one by Jarrod Parker, as we won 5-0 vs. HOU at home. The funny thing: 6 BB allowed by Parker and still no runs--thanks to a measly 2 hits by them.
Love, love, love this young pitching staff.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
i chose to do a Franchise with the Marlins this year and have to say that i love playing as them and def will be continuing this franchise on forever. I just got done playing and takign 2-3 from the Phillies and taking the first one from the Nationals to vault me into first place as of April 14th.
The game i lost to PHilly was on a walk off home run by a pinch hitter... Chase Utley. it was a home run camera special. lost that game 1-0. when i saw the camera cut i was stunned... i couldnt move i was like.. did that just happen really??
Oh well it is a long season and TNK's sliders are now and forever more my very best friend... i shall take the Marlins and make them champions!!!!"Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Bring us a championship. I would, but i defered out of the overloaded AL West and and wen to take on the NL East as the Marlins... love that team... i just need to remember to bunt every tme with Garrett Jones when no one is on base to ensure getting a hit every now and then.. that shift is a pain in the back side..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Hopefully your not having as much difficulty with Johnson as your closer as the real life A's are... god i get sooo freaked out now when i see him come into a game...

I did demote Johnson to the setup role, per real life, and I'm happy enough with him there. I'm confident he can mow down the end of an order and win appropriate match ups at the top end, but I have even more confidence in Cook, who has been lights-out.
I'm going to post this in the trade discussion thread, as I'm not sure how realistic the thought is, given Johnson's multi-year deal, but I could totally live without him and at least one starter in exchange for an everyday IF bat or a stud DH type who would allow me to move Moss out of that role and into an everyday spot at 1B or something . . . or perhaps for a person who hits better than Reddick and fields okay.
BTW, cool that you're using MIA. I've thought about them, as they have some fun/funky uniforms and some interesting young talent.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
I joined a little late to the party. Got my copy yesterday and Im just testing the game around. I did start a quick franchise with the Yanks (will be doing the main one when rosters come out) and first game against the Astros, Derek Jeter homered in his first AB
Jacoby Ellsbury hit an inside-the-park-home run after Presley stupidly overthrew the ball to Altuve (irony LOL) and allowed Ells to take home
Having a blast but Ill continue to mess around until i fully start. Planning to do one with the Yanks and Im between the Marlins, Rockies or BrewersNew York Yankees
Green Bay Packers

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Man, I feel the same whenever I see Sergio Santos on the mound for the Jays! A friend of mine finally understood my feeling regarding Santos following that blown out inning in Minnesota on Thursday. But I will still take my chances with him when I start my Jays franchise :-DComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Had a fun franchise going with the Marlins. Just about to go into June with a 10 game behind .500 record, but still fighting for the 3rd spot in the East. Then, I was stealing 2nd base Giancarlo in a game, he's safe but he's hurt. Torn finger ligament and out for 2-3 months, ughh! He was tied for lead in NL for HR's and top 5 in RBI's. I don't even want to play it anymore lol.
Now I'm jut waiting for the fictional rosters to come out to start my franchise.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
Well now it's like 14 games GB, well under .500 into the 2nd week of June lol. I love quick counts and player lock, just made so much progress today. I'm fighting through it though, or trying to. Those to new features are key for a guy like me that loves franchises, but gets bored pretty quick. No getting bored now. Plus, 30 team control is so easy this year, do I am using it finally. Already stopped a few stupid trades that involved guys like papelbon, hamels, sandy Rodriguez, and a few other players that really had no business being traded since their teams were doing well, and/or had available salary to keep them just fine.
Awesome game this year and I love my franchise right now. Can't wait to get Giancarlo back in the lineup.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress
I'm having a good time with the Astros. I've been using player lock and sinning a few games here and there. We're 33-51. Which is about where I expected it to be.
I got Brett Gardner in a trade with the Yanks. He got hurt. Expected to be back soon though. We have no power. Last I'm majors in homers. 7th in stolen bases (would be higher if Gardner was healthy). I'm gonna power through and finish it up.
Oh and I have Mat Gamel as my starting 1B. 28 and has a B potential but a 56 overall. I traded Carter (stupid decision) but after gamel was the only MLB 1B on my roster, I resigned Brett Wallace. He's off to a hot start.Comment
