Yeah it's a bit unrealistic. I could see losing a step or two or perhaps becoming more injury prone, but a player's skills shouldn't erode that quickly.

      Pitchers:
      Darvish (96)
      Sherzer (90)
      Miller (87)
      forgot his name (83)
      Wheeler (83)

      three mid 80'6

      closer:
      Robertson (86)

      Line up:
      SS D. Gordon (80)
      LF A. Mccutchen (94)
      CF M. Trout (99)
      1B C. Davis (94)
      RF Y. Puig (94)
      2B prospect (74) and Drew (71)
      C Perzinski (71) and prospect (75)
      3B Mantle (71)
      DH Victorino (84)

i have a couple platoon guys, but for the most part this is it. It is defianately top heavy. I also have been taking advantage of teams trying to rebuild and teams trying to make a playoff push. I had Victoino traded, but he got injured that day....

I play with QC, and win about 45% of my games so far, but im still getting use to alot of my hitters. I only play about 4-5 games per month, until the playoffs or i am fighting for a playoff spot. As far as pitchers go, some of them just feel unplayable. I had traded for Harvey at one point, and immediatly worked on getting rid of him, his stats simulate great, but i got shelled the two times i pitched with him. I plan on playing a bunch of games in order to make sure i like everybody before the trade dealine. What do you think?
How did you manage to acquire all these players without forcing the trades through yourself? I've been having a difficult time having the CPU accept any trades for established MLBers even if I'm offering up a couple A potential youngsters or MLBers of my own.

As far as Harvey being unplayable, I'm not having that issue. Currently in the first season of my Mets franchise, and Harvey is 7-0 with a 2.38 ERA and leading the NL in strikeouts through his first 11 starts. I've played all his starts myself using QC. I do walk a lot of batters with him though, more than other most pitchers I've played with.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

So I have done two franchises that were almost all sim, one with the Yankees and one with the Cubs. Both only lasted two years.

The yankees one, I won the division the first year, ended up making the world series and lost in six to the Diamondbacks. Second year I won it in five not sure how. Id made almost no changes in this one yet somehow the sim in playoffs resulted in me basically sweeping my way to the world series.

My cubs one, I was 84-80 in the first year even though i traded a lot of my good players for young B potential guys. I drafted insanely well. Ended up with two 70 rated players, one with A one with high B. I made a trade for an A potential 1st baseman called Aaron Lutz. Moved him to third, Olt to second. Second Year we went 85-79, young guys came up at all star break. Ended up winning the world series in 6 against detroit. One rookie was playoff MVP, another was WS MVP.

I don't understand why my sims make my teams so much better. I'm trying an Astros franchise now. I have made a move for Billy Hamilton, another A potential 60 rated SP prospect and four B potential prospects rated between 51-65. Have traded Crain, Castro, Carter and Feldman. I hope this will take me a couple more years to improve. About to finish my first month and am 5-21, going to play two games a month now.

Let me know if a) there are any players I should get, I'm only just getting into baseball b) how to make a more realistic sim

Well my 7 game win streak has come to a halt with a 4-0 loss to the Brewers. Tried something new with my lineup even though I was hitting well, with Lake out for a few days and Bonofacio struggling against righties this was my lineup

          Sweeney
          Barney
          Rizzo
          Schierholtz
          Castiollo
          Castro
          Valbuena
          Kalish
          Jackson

Didn't go well I did record 7 hits but grounded into 3 double plays which killed my innings I now sit at 12-11 .5 game back of first.

ps. I noticed a small thing that annoys me when simulating the other games the box has innings 4-12 instead of 1-9. Have to hit view box score to see the real thing not a big deal just minor.

Castro @ 6 is interesting. Does he give you enough gap power there to drive in runs if your earlier guys get on? And how's Barney @ 2? I like him as top-of-the-lineup guy myself in the game, but he gets little love if left to the CPU, which usually bats him @ 8, I believe.

IDK if regular games are like this, but QC games seem to replicate the phenomenon of guys with "protection" in the lineup getting more hitter's counts. It looks like Castro is right on the bubble there, with not much to fear behind him.

Castro in real life bats 6th that's why I put him there and Barney hitting second isn't working out hitting like .178 I have bonofacio playin In center thinking of putting Sweeney or kalish there and have bonofacio pay 2nd

Just lost again to the brewers 2-1 to put me at 12-12

I think the Cubs have lots of versatility positionally, which can make the season lots of fun.

Anyone else have screwed up contracts? I'm in June in my first year with the Mets and I was looking around and saw Grabderson was on a one year contract, as was Hunter Pence and Hanley Ramirez. I started this with the original roster, did the update fix this?

Yes they do it's very fun to play with the cubs I am also a cubs fan though we don't have many pitching prospects but with the young talent in the farm system I believe they have the second ranked farm it makes it even more fun

                    Just beat the reds 7-4

He wont be completely unusable, I I dont think his record will look very good.

I will have to play more with Harvey, I also let the catxher tell me where to throw.

As for trades. I spend hours figuring out what a team needs wants, who they may want and so forth. There were a few times I traded for someone just because I knew another team would want them. So, in short, grinding and beating the AI in trades.

The players association does not allow real contracts so they are all fictional.

Does anyone know how the rule works where players call prospect up later in the season to keep them a year or so longer before they hit the free agency? What month is it, and does it work in The Show? (i'm assuming it has something to do with service time, and therefore it does, but it doesn't hurt to ask)

                              Thanks in advance
