Please keep posting your responses so I can continue to update my original post. Probably it will never do anything, but maybe a developer can at least take this to the table someday and make some changes or provide more uniform slots.


Somebody said something about a patch...won't happen. I've only seen sports games "fix" a uniform a few times. When Madden still cared a little about 5 years ago, they fixed something on the Giants uniforms. The Show fixed the Braves BP last year, but I feel that was more because of the backlash the Braves had with their logo. I hope SCEA doesn't go the EA route and make you purchase uniforms like NCAA, but I believe this is the result of 1) taking like a month to make a uniform (so convenience and time constraints) and 2) focusing on other visuals and 3) the game being restricted to specific uniform slots.

Mets fans should do a change.org petition. Something like that would make a bit of noise and eventually good publicity. But we won't because of the amount of infighting whenever someone points out an error in this game. It's like going to your favorite restaurant and they forgot to cook your steak. Just eat it your wife says. Everything else is great and hopefully next visit they'll cook your steak the way you want it.

Wanna know a strange thing I noticed? The Home Snow White Met Uniforms (Without pinstripes) are worn in the crowd. So are the Blue Home Alternates (complete with the orange piping) so someone clearly made them and put them as a wearable option for the crowd. Just not for the Players. That's a bit frustrating.

Makes no sense; it is like someone forgot to change the blank pants template to the correct one.

Havent seen them in game yet since the install is taking forever, but have looked at the uniforms on the play now screen..

Ps4 Blue Jay fans will be happy to know it looks like the blue is fixed.. much lighter on the uniform selection screen.

Yeah I figured that picture was really old, but I still think even the one Cano is pictured in there is a good bit different from the in-game jersey color.

Yeah thats one of my favorite uniforms.. unfortunately they look WAY too dark in game.

Anyway I don't see why they don't just claim the Mets all white and blue are throwbacks. Put them in the game that way.

Also I called Majestic to see if when selling a jersey what rules they had to follow....and sure enough the customer service rep claimed they had to follow the MLB style guide. I then asked what if the style guide was wrong. I will have that answer tomorrow. So it seems that the style guide does actually contain this material in it.

I know this topic has been beaten to death but seriously MLB The Show is the ONLY thing affiliated with MLB that has to follow the style guide. That makes no sense at all.

This issue is really annoying. The first few times something is left out the game I overlooked it but this year its just ridiculous. It wont stop me from playing though because it is a great game.

Minor league uniforms

Do any of you guys play minor league games? The uniforms for many minor league teams need to be redone.

My comments are in bold.

Astros: Good. Home alternate cap is listed as a throwback, for whatever reason.
A's: Good (even though the home cap is listed as a road alt) Home and road alternate jerseys should be switched.
Angels: Good
Rangers: Error - Squatchees on hats are now same color as hat instead of contrast. Possible style guide issue.
Mariners: Good, but if history serves me correctly, the Pilots are not part of their history. Mariners have worn Pilots throwbacks in the past.


Twins: Good. Uniform table says there are a few minor errors.
Indians: Error - Road throwback pants should be red, undershirts and accessories for cream unis should be red.
Tigers: Good
Royals: Good
Sox: Missing - throwback BP hat, throwback batting helmet.


Rays: Missing - Columbia blue Sunday jersey, fauxback helmet Error - All blue Columbia hat on fauxbacks instead of front panel cut out only.
Yanks: Good
Sox: Good. "Hanging Sox" caps no longer used, but still included because they are listed as alternate caps in the style guide.
O's: Good
Jays: Missing - Red BP hat Also has some striping errors on the road sleeves/pants

Mets: Missing - Blue Alt home, Blue Alt road, Blue/Orange Alt hat, All white unis
Nats: Good Road socks should be red.
Marlins: Error - Home BP cap is not all white. Should just be white front panel
Braves: Missing - Red Military jersey, Alt throwback BP cap
Phils: Good

Pirates: Error - New font should ONLY be on home/road/alt and not on every jersey. Throwback shouldn't have pinstripes, but thick stripes. Missing - Throwback BP hat, Throwback Yellow Pillbox hat, Military Jersey/Hat (since they feel the need to include them for other teams)
Brewers: Missing - Gold jersey, Home Navy jersey. Error - wrong blue on home throwback
Reds: Good
Cards: Missing - Sunday cap Sunday cap is no longer worn.
Cubs: Error- Font on alternate away. Road and R-Alternate pants are interchangeable.


Giants: Good
Dodgers: Good Missing road alternate pants.
Padres: I think the BP is wrong. It should have a white front panel if I'm not mistaken Correct, not sure how that was screwed up since it's white in the style guide.
Rox: Good (even though the vests are worn with black undershirts and the purple hat hasn't been used in years and I think the helmet is wrong)
D-Backs: Good

Is there a reason the game doesn't have more retro jerseys?



I play as the Astros, and I wanted to use the silver, gold, and navy-blue unis they used in the '90s, but they weren't in this game or last year's.

Does MLB themselves have to give permission first? Or are teams only allowed to use throwbacks they'll be wearing in THIS real-world season?

You know, the retro stuff is ok to me now...I can take it or leave it. Teams don't wear them a whole lot now anyway. I would just be happy with the correct alternate uniforms. And I don't even care if a hat bill is wrong or other small things(just want to say, I don't begrudge anyone who cares about the small things...we all have different things we like). I really was disappointed that the same stuff with the uniforms continues to be an issue with the Ps4. Also, I was very disappointed with the lack of accessories and shoes, batting gloves etc.

Maybe I just got the wrong impression but I really thought a lot of the things that were asked to be improved on couldn't do to lack of lower in the ps3.....and now there's all this great technology on the ps4 but not much changed.

@bwburke Thanks for the replies! I sent you a PM. @beedl The devs said that they cannot commit the amount of time for minor leagues as the major leagues. I'm sure many of them are old and outdated. I know they don't have (maybe any) alternates available for usage. I guess they figure that it takes too much time, they change so much, and people really only use MiLB for RTTS where you can't change unis anyway.

Thanks for the reply @sherman. The whole uniform thing boggles my mind. I do play AAA games in franchise. Maybe there aren't many people that do this. As much merchandise, especially jerseys and caps that MLB and MiLB pedal, it seems it would be more important to get more of this correct. I really thought with the PS4 we would get more slots for uniforms and caps. Heck, I thought more would be correct. I know we've heard the style guide reason for years. Is licensing an issue? Sales not generating the revenue of football. For example, NCAA football, has a lot of unis, then downloadable unis from Nike, Adidas, etc. Isn't Majestic the company behind all official MLB unis and caps? Seems like that would make this simpler. What about the retro unis? Are they part of the Cooperstown Collection? I love playing the game but this decision I don't really get. Sorry, I try not to complain too much on public discussion boards, but the lack of correct uniforms perplexes me.

By the way, thanks for keeping the Google site available with correct unis, schedules, and such.

If Majestic follows the style guide when they make jerseys, then the style guide is far more correct than what's in The Show, and the blame therefore lies with Sony, SCEA, and the San Diego developers.

Majestic isn't selling the regular (non-alt) Pirates home uniforms with mustard trim and outlines. Majestic isn't selling Cubs alt gray unis with the wrong font. Majestic isn't selling Giants unis with an orange/white/black batterman logo on them (the Giants batterman is black/white/orange in the style guide).

SCEA deserves plenty of blame for these mistakes, because they really aren't following the style guide in a lot of cases.

No, it is not. There is this thing in the press/media that they call responsible journalism. It means KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT before shooting your mouth off. I know it, in reality, is quite different than what we have here, but my goodness, just because a million people answer "because it is in the style guide" doesn't mean you have to just to get it said. Ridiculous.

In MLB 13, and MLB 12, it was pinstripe pants. If it was in the style guide, both of those years were inaccurate. No team has EVER worn pinstripe tops and plain pants.

Know facts before you embarrass yourself.
