I may have found the solution to the freezing problem

For those who are having problems in franchise mode, what type of memory card are you using? Is it a Sony or 3rd party one?

I took my game to a friends house and loaded up a new franchise mode. He had the Sony memory card and I didn't see any freezing. I then loaded up my franchise mode on his PS2, and it hanged.

I have a Madcatz memory card, and this could possibly be causing the freezing in franchise mode. My file being loaded could be corrupted and causing this to happen.

Im going to pick up a new Sony memory card and get back with my findings.

Well I know it's not infallible, but turning the music all the way down to 0 and deselecting the tracks in the jukebox has worked for me. I've had one freeze in about 15 games since I did that.

Aiight fellaz, My Cuz rented this game Mon. & w/ presentation on many, it froze on him. When he set the setting to normal...NO FREEZES...His PS2 is about 3 yrs old. Now when he brought it over to my pad, we tested it w/ presentation on many and NO FREEZES!! I have a Launch PS2, and so far no freezes in Franchise,HR Derby,cpu vs cpu, player 1 vs player 2, music on,etc... and nada STILL no freezes. He couldn't get past the 2nd inning w/out it freezing...he has a 3rd party card, & I have Sony, but i think it could be the system it's played on

I have palyed about 30-40 games so far in my franchise with Atlanta and have not had one freeze yet. I have a Sony memory card and I did set the presentations to "normal". Also, and I don't know if this matteres or not.... when I bought my game (from a small mom & pop store near where I live), I did not get one of those coupons for the free hat. In fact on the celo wrapping, I did not even see a sticker saying there was a free hat coupon. Don't know if this helps but I have not had one freeze so far and I really like this game.
