I have palyed about 30-40 games so far in my franchise with Atlanta and have not had one freeze yet. I have a Sony memory card and I did set the presentations to "normal". Also, and I don't know if this matteres or not.... when I bought my game (from a small mom & pop store near where I live), I did not get one of those coupons for the free hat. In fact on the celo wrapping, I did not even see a sticker saying there was a free hat coupon. Don't know if this helps but I have not had one freeze so far and I really like this game.

with my original cd i manage to play about 6 games(average) without freezing but than i decide to go to my neiboors house and make a backup dvd(DVDR)(just to see if the problem was the DVD type that 989 used, and guess what..i ve already played about 25 FULL GAMES and no freeze yet...the only wierd thing that happened was that in a game after the cather trhough the ball to my pichter the game didnt continue..just keep showing the pichter streching and etc..very weird..but it was only once in 25 full games.!!!
well thins has definatly solve the problem for me..

btw. i have a 50001PS2 modded with DMS3...and a sony Memorycard

I just bought a brand new slim PS2 and MLB 2006 yesterday. I started a game without a memory card at all and the game froze on me in the 5th.

Has anyone had any luck at getting a non-freezing copy after returning for an exchange? Or should I just get something else? I don't want this game if it freezes up constantly.

Well my first copy froze on me like 4 times brought it back got another copy and in about 20 games or so no freezes yet(keeping my fingers cross)And as far as the memory card thing its not that i am using the same memory card as the first copy i had with no freezes

I exchanged my copy yesterday after the hard boiled egg treatment failed. The new one was good for about 4 games then it froze earlier today.

guys..bad news again..my DVDR backup just froze on me.!!!Damn!

now i am starting to think this is a LUCK matter... it cant be the cd type, cause it also freezes when you hdload it..and i would say that the problem is there..but than some people doesnt have this issue..so i guess, its just a matter of LUCK!

btw..i have no luck than! (i was able to play about 27 ,28 games(FULL) than top of the 7th!!BAMN! froze when i press Start...and worst is not that..after that i had 3 consecutives freezes !!! nao i dont really get it!!!why i stayed 27 games smothly than suddely it freezes like hell!!this is something weird guys..i think theres no tech or spiritual or cooking explanation...!!!i am tired of thinking how to solve this ..just cause i wish so much to play this game fully!...last but not least, its anoying cause the freezes always cames when i think it wont freeze again!!at the beginig i was waiting for it to freeze and it didnt..now its the opposite!

What were you doing being a cheapskate with the mad catz card anyways? LOL. Im just kidding. Dont kick me off the board. Im just in one of them happy go lucky good moods today. In all seriousness though I bought it two days ago and I havent had any lockups but then again im just playing in career mode. I have all of the goodies turned on. The only freeze I see is at the end of the game my screen goes white and I can see a small hint of the field or a player in the background but its like a 3 second freeze then it goes to the lockeroom cut scene. I havent tried any other modes yet as I am trying to be the supa pimp of all baseball lol.

I exchanged my MLB 2006 yesterday. I've played four games without any freezes.....I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Great game so far.
