Re: Knight - classic teams
I like all of your choices. I'm kind of like a couple others with the '84 Tigers, but they're both good choices to me and I'd love to see either. If you decide to do a Negro League team, though, you've got to go with the Pittsburgh Crawfords. Satchel, Josh Gibson and Cool Papa Bell on the same team is hard to beat. I'm okay with the Rays and Rockies teams that you picked, though. I'll be pleased with whatever you offer us!Comment

Okay....I don't mind doing the '84 Tigers....AGAIN!
Here is the link to the next update.
The '71 Pirates and the '91 Twins added.
I haven't "tested" the Twins yet...but I did see Kent Hrbek in the demo mode...I have to make his head bigger...
Also....it looked like everyone looked shiny in the HHH dome...wierd.

Re: Knight - classic teams
Would have loved to see one of the A's teams from the early 1970's (71-75), but the 89 team won 99 games I think...albeit steroid fueled.
List looks good...and I think it emphasizes the need for era based roster sets. Most of these are from post 1980. Would love to see a set from 1955-1979. Wish I had the skill, and patience, to do it...but I don't.
C
A one or two decade set would be very cool.
I guess if I did it and just left the other teams as is..(or if they had a team under a different name...did that)....they could be used for exhibition only.
Capa....was that your historical rosters for MVP?...I just loaded a set and Pirate's stadiums for a look. Those rosters kicked ***!

Re: Knight - classic teams
For the Rockies I would like to have the 1997 team with Walker, Bichette, Gallaraga, Castilla, and Burkes. Also I would like to see the 90 A's instead of the 89 A's Canseco, Henderson and Big Mac all had better years in 90 I believe. Also I know you have chosen an Astros team already but if you were to change your mind I would like to see an Astros team with Bagwell and Biggio like the 98 or 99 teams. Awesome work on these Knight I have had some great games with the teams that you have finished so far, and I used your Classic rosters from last year from the time you released them till the Show 09 came out.
Also I think the 99 Rays would be great to have I know they were terrible but that was a great year for McGriff 32 HR 102 RBI .310 BA who is one of my all time fav players. Also its always a plus to get to have a roided up Jose Canseco 34 HR in 113 games that year. It would also give people a reason to use the ugly old Devil Ray uniforms.Last edited by JoeC; 06-02-2009, 03:23 AM.BCS Express - TCU (yr 1 12-1)(yr 2 10-2)

Re: Knight - classic teams
As a Rockies fan, I agree. Sure the '07 team made the World Series, but they were sort of a fluke, but the Blake Street Bombers were a much better team. Not too mention you also had a young Todd Helton on the team as well.Steam: BahnzoComment

Hey...I thought we agreed on the 68 Tigers. Ok..Ok...I'll give it up if you promise to do a 1960's-1970's set of teams. And yes, you'd have to leave teams that did not exist as is..unless SCEA can show you how to substitute uniforms, stadiums, and team names!
If you do a 1960's-1970's set, here are my choices:
1. Arizona Diamondbacks - N/A
2. 1969 Atlanta Braves
3. 1966 Baltimore Orioles
4. 1967 Boston Red Sox
5. 1969 Chicago Cubs
6. 1964 Chicago White Sox
7. 1961 Cincinnati Reds
8. 1965 Cleveland Indians
9. Colorado Rockies - N/A
10. 1968 Detroit Tigers
11. Florida Marlins - N/A
12. 1979 Houston Astros
13. 1977 Kansas City Royals
14. 1979 California Angels
15. 1977 Los Angeles Dodgers
16. 1979 Milwaukee Brewers
17. 1965 Minnesota Twins
18. 1969 New York Mets
19. 1978 New York Yankees
20. 1973 Oakland A’s
21. 1964 Philadelphia Philies
22. 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates
23. 1978 San Diego Padres
24. 1962 (or 1967) San Francisco Giants
25. 1979 Seattle Mariners (doormat)
26. 1967 St. Louis Cardinals
27. Tampa Bay Rays - N/A
28. 1969 Washington Senators (Texas Rangers)
29. 1977 Toronto Blue Jays (doormat)
30. 1980 Montreal Expos

Re: Knight - classic teams
Thanks, Knight. I still haven't gotten in a game with the Royals & Dodgers, so it's twice as good for me. I vote 89 or 90 A's as your next team to release. Also, I like the 97 Rockies vs 07 as well. Thanks again!

Re: Knight - classic teams
Guys...
I'm thinking of going with this for the rest of the set
'08 Rays(unless you want a Negro League team)
'92 Blue Jays
'77 or '83 White Sox
'68 Tigers
'95 Indians
'91 Twins
'82 Angels
'89 A's
'01 Mariners
'99 Rangers
'95 Braves
'99 Marlins
'76 Phillies
'89 Cubs
'86 Astros
'85 Cards
'82 Brewers
'01 D-Backs
'07 Rockies(or another Negro League team)
'84 Padres
'89 Giants
What do you guys think?...

Re: Knight - classic teams
Any chance we could get the '97 Marlins instead of the '99, It would be great to play a season with Bobby Bonilla, Devon White, Charles Johnson, Darren Daulton, even Kevin Brown, Al leiter, and Alex fernandez. If not, oh well appreciate all the work you put into this.Comment

He's already released a file containing the missing teams that are 2 or 3 pages back. The list you read were the remaining teams left to do.

Re: Knight - classic teams
Didn't check the list close enough the first time.
Another vote for the '97 Rockies over the '07 team. Larry Walker and Andres Galarraga were a couple of my favorites while they played for the Expos. It would be great to have them in the game somewhere.
Besides, 2007 is just too recent for a roster based on "classic" teams.
Just my opinion. Keep up the great work, Knight and take these rosters in whichever direction you wish.Comment
