    Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010

Just some Braves updates, dunno if they'll help or not.

Nate Mclouth has new contact lenses, his poor vision may have been a factor in his late season slump last year.

Depending on what Jason Hayward does in camp, he'll be the starting right fielder with a Matt Diaz and Melky platoon in left.

Jason Hayward has reportedly put on 20 pounds of muscle.

Derek Lowe is said to have ironed out the mechanic flaws that led to his second half decline last year.

During the 20 starts he made from Aug. 11, 2008-May 23, 2009, the 36-year-old right-hander went 12-3 with a 2.34 ERA. Unfortunately, in the 24 starts that have followed, Lowe went 9-8 with a 5.25 ERA and allowed opponents to produce a .379 on-base percentage.

Also, I think Jordan Schafer may be given a raw deal ratings wise. Whether is was pitchers making adjustments to him or the wrist injury he sustained a week into the season that he ended up having surgically repaired, the way he started and the way he ended last year was dramatically different. He was Atlanta's #1 prospect heading into last season and I think the way he was going prior to the injury was at least an indication that he could be an A or B potential player. Given the short amount of A's to be handed out though, I'd understand a B being given. Some are saying he could make it back to Atlanta this year depending on Mclouth's ability to return to form after last season, and Jordan's ability to rebound from an injury.

I'm a Braves fan, have been for my entire life, but when building rosters, you can't really go on optimism to change any ratings. We have to go on actual performance and legit scouting reports. Now say for instance Nate McClouth is seeing the ball better and spring and several scouts take note of it, stroll over to the resource site we have created and post the info that you find.

Let's go Braves this year. I'm really excited about our team this year.

Yea, sadly this was my first thought as well lol

I know optimism is far from the entire science, but it can be part of the equation I think.

            Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010

Okay, guys. We are making some serious progress with the Roster Maker's Resources Site project. I am totally psyched!

Here's what I would like to see accomplished by the time that the game is released on March 2nd:

In each team's "Scouting Reports" thread, there is a top 20 prospects list for that organization. In some cases the players aren't ranked (this is rare), but there are at least 20 of them.

I would like to see each team's "portraits" section have a post for each of the top 20 prospects for each team.

NOTE: Please read up on the posting formats and guidelines in the GENERAL board. Helping to keep things organized and in the proper format saves the mods a TON of work.

Once again, the RMRS can be found at:

            Cheers!

schafer will already be in the game cause he played at the major league level. so its whatever potential rating SCEA gives him is what he will have

I would love just 10 more!

Yes...you will get those extra guys once you start a franchise...so that's a plus still.

Heh, that was my assumption, but then again... A-potential prospects denote superstars/future HOF'ers and I'm pretty sure in the Padres farm system, the only guy I can think of that really deserves an A-potential is Jaff Decker. Thankfully I think based on your impressions, potential isn't locked anymore (although not editable).

Love the work that goes into this... so per usual, if you ever need any hosting/mirroring or data help, let me know. I've got a number of servers around the US. Although it's obviously not as necessary as it used to be.

Looking at the list of the Yankees top 50 prospects, I noticed that Pat Venditte (the switch pitcher) was on the list and is probably going to make it to AA this year. What would you do when creating him? lefty or righty? When/if he makes it to the big leagues SCEA might have to make an option for a switch pitcher. that would be AWESOME!

Can't wait Knight as I have always waited for your roster set before starting a franchise (cant stand the fictional players). Hopefully the SCEA MLB player ratings are that much more on point in whichever roster you use as your base.

PS. I still have the 3 year average rating spreadsheets if you want to use it for a version of this years set (provided no major change to the ratings engine)

Dont forget to download the SABR emerald Guide to Baseball 2010. It has the batting, pitching and fielding stats of every major and minor league player active in 2009. So many stats for so many players. Also has salary information. Probably will help some.

Why doesn't SCEA just hire you to do all this work you do before they make the game? That way you can get deservedly compensated for the amazing work you do, as well as give us the opportunity to use these fantastic updates as soon as the game is released. It would also help that we could use these rosters online, with updates (from yourself, continuing to bring in a paycheck). You should definitely send in a resume!
Knight wouldn't be able to release these rosters for SCEA. They do not own the rights to use payer likenesses until they have played in an official MLB game. Most of his CAPs fall outside of Sony's usage rights.

That said, his rosters make the game for me. I never start a serious franchise until he releases them!
