We'd love to, but we can't "edit" contracts pre-franchise.
What you can do is....if you use 30 team control(or plan on playing as the Twins)...is before you start the franchise....put Mauer on the FA list.
First day...sign him to the correct contract(or the correct pro-rated for the Show contract that is)

You can do this with 30 team control to get contracts correct by the way!

Is anyone thinking about doing this for the whole roster once they come out? I could assist, of course, I've just been fixing the contracts by signing anonymous players to max contracts to decrease the amount of funds each team has going into the first offseason. It's a bit crude but it does work and yields pretty interesting results like the A's spending all of their offseason money on Manny, and that's pretty much it.

What is the consensus on this player potential issue and how it will affect these rosters? Has there been a solution to the inordinate amount of minor league pitchers vs batters with "A" potential?

knight has done some extensive research on this, I believe (if anything) it comes out with better offensive numbers down the road

I've simmed a 5 year franchise 10)times to test this out.
The results are in the "amateur draft bug" thread in the main section(there is no amateur draft bug" by the way IMO)...and the stats play out pretty good into the 5 years in.
There must be a pretty big turnover of A pitchers from when you start your franchise....years in because the number jumped only 10(on average) in those five years....and if anything....offense INCREASED a little and fake position players "outplayed" their pitching counterparts.
There is a 2015 franchise save in that thread for those that want to check it out.(it is from default rosters)
One thing that will need toning down is Baserunning ability and aggression for fake players. Too many basestealers IMO..not a big deal...but..

I think the base stealing aggression is actually a good thing just because i think a lot of teams are going to moving in that direction. since there's no more juice, small ball might re-emerge lol. look at all the young up and comers and you'll see the vast majority of them are threats on the basepaths.

hey, i asked this a few pages ago, and i have read quite a bit of this thread, but dont remember seeing this answered. if anyone could clear this up for me, id greatly appreciate it.

are you going to be editing major league fielding attributes? and if so, are you going to be using uzr and +/- to do so? just curious, appreciate you guys for doing these rosters and keeping us up to date. thanks again.

I'm not too sure about that. MLB is moving back to small ball since the power numbers will be going down and it looks like SCEA is predicting that.

I sincerely doubt that their predicting anything. However, Its not really a bad thing because I also believe that small ball is coming back.

Knight, I got on here and was thinking wow, this board has a bunch of tools on it, every other post is saying how much you rock. But then i thought about it and yeah, you do rock. Without you doing what you do, the futures game would be completley irrelevant, and spring training and just managing the call ups and what not would not be as rewarding.

Nice to have you on board. Florida has some good prospects, Stanton, Skipworth, Cousins, Tripp, Galloway, Berglund, Morrison, James and Dominguez. Looks solid to me! Have not heard too much on Locke since the trade. How has he been doing? You take a kid out of a big market team and unless he is lights out he fades out of the spotlight. Would love to hear what you have on him at this point.

he is doing well...and although bradenton has him listed on their roster, according the jeff, the pirates want him at AA in Altoona which is perfect because he will play in the northeast(im from central mass) ie. places like portland and manchester

from my own report on jeff and from the 08' prospect guide is like this...he stands 6'2 and is about 215 lbs now...throws in the low to mid 90's with his fastball with significant movement. has a hard breaking 11-7 curveball and a plus change up with excellent command of the strikezone

i know the pirates were always really high on him since i still have the business card of one of the scouts that saw him when he was still in high school

last i talked to him the pirates were trying to get him to throw a slider with varying results...and he started in the lynchburg championship game last year(got rocked though)

i figure at any rate...being a left handed starting pitcher will give you as many shots at the bigs as you can possibly get...anyways cheers everyone and thanks again for the rosters, cant wait
