    Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010

Below are my recommendations for the minor league players to be included in the Detroit franchise. In selecting the players I took into account the prospects listed by John Sickels, players who played Winter ball in 2009 and players on the minor league rosters invited to Spring Training. As we get closer to opening day we will have a better idea of how the actual AAA and AA rosters will shape up. Players whose names appear in all upper case letters are on the 40 man roster. The names of players not on the 40 man roster appear in both upper and lower case. Information and photos for all minor league pitchers, catchers and outfielders has been added to the Roster Makers board. Please also note the following:
    1. It is likely that Alex Avila will be the starting catcher on the AAA team in order to gain more experience.
    2. Phil Dumatrait (P), Enrique Gonzalez (P) and Korby Castro (3B) have signed minor league contracts and been invited to Spring Training, but have not been added to any rosters. I consider it a long shot for any of them to make the Major League Roster.
    3. Dontrell Willis, absent a change from last year, will likely end up on the 60 day DL.
    4. Casey Fien has just been "designated for assignment" so his future with Detroit is uncertain.

    Here are the rosters:

        Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010

Its probably a good thing the rosters wont be out till after opening day. Case in point the eternal game of are you reliever......or are you a starter? Neftali Feliz..........starter........or reliever..........Liriano..............Joba...Phil Hughes etc. Its crazy how these teams cant make up their minds lol. Remember Randy Myers ? Who was the brain surgeon that made him a starter after the Nasty Boys broke up. Ksig would know better than me but i dont get it, Joba may never be that kid from 2008 again. Knight when you convert a guy from starter to reliever , do you bump their velocity up?

I am sure you are aware, but for the other peoples.....

Baseball America came out with their top 100 a few days ago....

Good list. I especially love the #55 ranking for Mitchell and the #66 for Hudson. Hudson, 2009 MiLB Pitcher of the Year, has been disrespected by other rankings (or in Keith Law's case, the whole sox org., since he hates the chisox for some reason). I mean, Hudson's 2009 stats are just amazing...

played at 4 different levels, and still managed an ERA up 2.65, WHIP of 0.98, K/9 of over 10, BB/9 of a little over 2, and only allowed 11 HR in 217 IP. The 22-year-old is just flat out awesome.

              Hey Knight...regarding Jesus Montero...
earlier today...either Sweeney Murti or Steve Phillips..not sure which one...said that Montero's days are going to be numbered as catcher, and it'll bear watching. The Yanks are looking at him kind of how the Indians and Red Sox now view Victor Martinez---great bat, but not good defensively, so will be profiled at another position

I didn't hear it...but from a lot of the prospect books...they all seem to say that Montero, while a true offensive force, looks very shaky behind the plate.
I wonder....will he be able to handle 1B...or be solely a DH ?
                Thanks.

I just wanna see how the game engine plays (ratings-wise) if any different from last year and how the players are SCEA rated this year to see if it would make sense. Id be happy to do a possible re-rated set if 1.) if there are some out there that would be interested in it this year that liked that '09 version and 2.) Knight, Ridin et al. give their blessing for me to release a version of that based on their work which I wouldnt do without a go ahead.
hell yes i know i'm interested. i played with your set and thought it was working out to be something quite special. the catch was, as you know, you had done all the batters only, but for the full magic to happen, it was to also re-rate all the pitchers, (thus both batter and pitcher would both be equally tweaked). as it was, you had stopped your efforts. Quite frankly i think not all that many people got to taste your set though, because it was already after baseball season, it came after knight's last set, and the delays while working on it, but i vouch for it though ideally/logically the tweaks need to be done for both batters and pitchers.

Hey Knight, not sure if this was answered or not, and I don't want to sounds annoying or anything but can you fill us in on the progress of getting these rosters up?

I know the game isn't out till Tuesday, however I'm sure you could imagine a lot of us want to play with your rosters asap.

It would be great if you could fill us in. Thanks a bunch for these rosters!

Works out perfectly for me because I follow the real-life, day-to-day moves so by the time your rosters come out, the season has already started.

                              Thanks guys!
