    Re: All-Timers Teams

Just in case this was missed in last page:

Okay, after all these months, I am finally done with the 25-Man rosters. I will upload into the vault momentarily and then hopefully Joey can take the file from there. Thanks again, Joey.

I didn't do the Negro Leagues or International Teams yet, but they will be in the 40-Man roster set, which shouldn't take near as long. Thanks again for your patience. I will be working on 40-man roster lists as I watch football for the rest of the day and hopefully have a complete roster list soon in a Word file or something.

The completed 25-Man Rosters are now up (10/23/10). It's called "AllTimersV1.1 25 MRost"

Special note: I still haven't gone back and edited some of the earlier teams attributes, but I'm really just wanting to get the 40-Man done, so I'll edit each team as I go back through them. The Orioles are done all the way to the minors in this one as before. Here's what the final version of the Baltimore Orioles look like. Keep in mind that sometimes the minors will have guys that haven't actually played on that team, but since I never plan on using them, will remain there in obscurity:

Hey, Mysterio, here is a link to your rosters.

I DL'd & copied the file before coming into work this morning, so someone let me know if there's a problem with the file.

Edit: Meant to add that I am looking forward to trying these out. Thanks, Mysterio!

No problem at all. I'm hoping to get a chance to take the Giants into the Polo Grounds to battle "Dem Bums" later on tonight!

                Mysterio,

Great job you're doing with these, one question though, do you think
Jimmie Foxx should be on Boston's 40 man roster? He played first base
and was picked to 6 all star games while with Boston.

Jimmie Foxx is the starting 1B on the A's, which used to be the Philadelphia Athletics - the team he had the longest tenure with.

                    Re: All-Timers Teams

Joey is correct. I'm not doing players twice, which makes it a little difficult to find guys that deserve to be on an "All-Timers" team, but also gets the chance to get more players into the game.

Sorry about the Red Sox post before, it's been edited now. Parts of my posts keep disappearing for some reason.

Shouldn't Chris Iannetta be on the Rockies All-Timers team instead of Miguel Olivo?

Just a thought but anyway, the roster set is amazing. Great work, Mysterio.

I see what you're saying, but I had Jeff Reed in there before I stuck Olivo in. The roster was made back when Olivo was hot, having a monster year before his total meltdown in the second half. He'll probably be removed when I get back to the Rockies for Reed and maybe Iannetta. The Rockies haven't had a rich history with catchers. But, anyway, here's the 40 Man New York Yankees roster (still a work in progress):

I agree Bill Dickey should be there. I'd also add A-Rod. Nice touch with adding Joe Peppitone. Most classic Yankees Rosters leave him off. It's too bad that some of my favorite Yankees as a kid don't really qualify for all time teams. Guys like Tom Tresh, Tony Kubek, Bobby Richardson to name a few.

Otherwise looks good. Maybe Reggie Jackson too btw.

                            can't wait to play them!

                            bob

on closer examination I see Tony Kubek IS there. very nice.

Bill Dickey was an oversight. When dealing with thousands of players, sometimes someone is forgotten. I'll add him and bump Posada when I get back to this.

You can find A-Rod on the Mariners and Reggie Jackson on the A's, but otherwise can't fit any of the other guys in. Sorry.

Yeah, these really are great rosters, I was just shocked to see Dickey not there. Didn't want it to come off as me complaining.

To me, I am no Yankee fan, but I love their history. In reality, I think all 4 catchers belong, but I know there just isn't enough room on a 40 man (depending on who else you have).
