Re: All-Timers Teams
Joey I would agree Ted Williams was better but there are some players who are not as good as either rated similar to Williams. Yaz should be higher though.
Not many players compare to TeddyWhere's your will to be weird?Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
While I agree that Yaz is probably underrated on the roster, I don't think he'll rank as high as Ted Williams, arguably one of the best hitters of all-time.
This stems from the way I was doing ratings early in the roster as compared to later. I probably used Yaz's career stats at that time when I did the Sox. His later less productive years probably drove his rating down a bit. Later rosters (like the Rangers, for example) were mostly done with weighted ratings. I will correct this when I do a final edit in the earlier rosters.
Anyway, the Braves are done (except for a few attributes on the relief pitchers. The Tools are not giving me pitcher attributes right now)
SP Warren Spahn
SP Greg Maddux
SP Phil Niekro
SP Tom Glavine
SP John Smoltz
RP Kid Nichols
RP Lew Burdette
RP Johnny Sain
RP Rick Camp
CP Gene Garber
C Javy Lopez
C Joe Torre
1B Fred McGriff
1B Joe Adcock
2B Marcus Giles
SS Rafael Furcal
SS Rabbit Maranville
3B Eddie Mathews
3B Chipper Jones
OF Hugh Duffy
OF Dale Murphy
OF Andruw Jones
OF Wally Berger

OF Dave Justice
The Florida Marlins are next and probably won't take too long considering a lot of guys are still in the game...Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
I must correct, I did not mean Yaz's attributes be the same as Williams just up, I was going by the red bar I meant that should be up, apologies for the confusion.
That is a sick pitching staff the Braves have there. I am looking forward to the NL getting completed and being able to play with some of my fave players such as Piazza, Bagwell and others.
Your doing a great job.Where's your will to be weird?Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
That's cool. Just to see the difference, I went in and edited Yaz with weighted ratings from his '67 MVP season and it makes a HUGE difference. I realized this was the problem at some point in the process, which is why I changed the way I was doing it halfway through...
Thanks for the feedback. It makes it easier having things pointed out like this and knowing what I need to fix.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
Mysterio looking forward to these rosters thanks for all your hard work!
2 things though I think Fred McGriff should be a Padre he and Sheffield went head to head for the Triple Crown there, so personally I would say his best years where there. Second I think Dempster is better for the Cubs rotation you can replace him with Kevin Brown.Comment

I think you should do the giants nextComment

Re: All-Timers Teams
With Dempster, I just feel that the Cubs have such a long and storied history (over 100 years) with enough pitchers to fill out a roster and then some, while the Marlins aren't even 20 years old yet and don't have a whole lot of names to choose from. I'm going to leave Dempster on the Marlins, but if you want to move him to the Cubs, that's your option.
Fred McGriff could have gone on a number of teams, whether it be the Padres, Braves, Rays, Blue Jays, etc. I chose the Braves. I'm making the 40 man rosters later on with 15 extra guys on each team so that people can move around whoever they want wherever they want. This roster is just the way I want to play it. I plan on doing a season with total roster control once I'm done. But, personally, I like McGriff on the Braves. He played there longer and won a World Series there.
It looks like The Giants are down near the bottom of the list. I'm just working my way down the team list on the edit screen (which is they it's listed on the original post). It helps me "keep my place" rather than skipping around to all these different teams and not knowing what I've done already. But, it'll all get released at the same time.
I'm a little stalled on this right now with not being able to do pitchers, but I feel like I'm over the hump and plan to work as fast as I possibly can over the next few weeks in between work and life itself. Glad you guys are interested, though. It helps me keep me going.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
That entire outfield and most of the infield are currently scheduled to be on that team. The picthing staff is pretty close as well. I won't know for sure until I get to them and look over some stats to compare.
I'm struggling with all of the good 1B they've had. I hadn't thought about moving Cepeda to the OF. Might be something to consider since I also have Johnny Mize as well as McCovey. I was a big Will Clark fan, but haven't found a way to get him on the team yet. He just didn't have the stats as the other guys. He'll definitely be on the 40-man roster, however, if I can't figure out something.
I like Posey so far and one thing I am doing is putting future stars on the teams if I feel like they will be big in the future. Posey, as well as Strasburg, are worth considering because they seem like "can't miss" prospects, but I haven't decided whether or not players like this who haven't played a full season belong on the main roster. Opinions?Comment

I like the idea of having future big-time names on the roster, as long as they don't take up roster spots of other deserving playersComment

Re: All-Timers Teams
I think Mize should go in as a Cardinal he was drafted by them had some of his best years there and chose STL as his team for the HOF.
I like the idea of bringing in the prospects that are projected to make an impact for their team within the next few seasons. Bryce Harper is on the cusp.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
Good idea on Mize. The Cards have Albert as their only 1B, so that could open up a spot for Clark on the Giants.
So I'm stuck on the Nationals, half out of laziness, half out of disinterest. One of my least favorite teams to do so far...finding a 1B who wasn't Andres Galarraga (Rockies) was like pulling teeth, so I just went with Adam Dunn, their current 1B. I know he was with the Reds a long time, but they're pretty stacked without him...and the pickings are slim for this franchise.
Not quite done just yet, but I managed to put together the final roster:
SP Steve Rogers
SP Bryn Smith
SP Dennis Martinez
SP Javier Vazquez
SP Bill Gullickson
RP Stephen Strasburg
RP Ugueth Urbina
RP Mel Rojas
RP Tim Burke
RP Ken Hill
CP Jeff Reardon
C Gary Carter
C Darrin Fletcher
1B Rusty Staub
1B Adam Dunn
2B Jose Vidro
2B Delino DeShields
SS Orlando Cabrera
3B Ryan Zimmerman
3B Tim Wallach
OF Andre Dawson
OF Tim Raines
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Marquis Grissom
