    Re: All-Timers Teams

[QUOTE=MysterioMan007;2041311443]While I agree that Yaz is probably underrated on the roster, I don't think he'll rank as high as Ted Williams, arguably one of the best hitters of all-time.

This stems from the way I was doing ratings early in the roster as compared to later. I probably used Yaz's career stats at that time when I did the Sox. His later less productive years probably drove his rating down a bit. Later rosters (like the Rangers, for example) were mostly done with weighted ratings. I will correct this when I do a final edit in the earlier rosters.

Anyway, the Braves are done (except for a few attributes on the relief pitchers. The Tools are not giving me pitcher attributes right now)

    SP Warren Spahn
    SP Greg Maddux
    SP Phil Niekro
    SP Tom Glavine
    SP John Smoltz
    RP Kid Nichols
    RP Lew Burdette
    RP Johnny Sain
    RP Rick Camp
    CP Gene Garber

    C Javy Lopez
    C Joe Torre
    1B Fred McGriff
    1B Joe Adcock
    2B Marcus Giles
    SS Rafael Furcal
    SS Rabbit Maranville
    3B Eddie Mathews
    3B Chipper Jones
    OF Hugh Duffy
    OF Dale Murphy
    OF Andruw Jones
    OF Wally Berger
    OF Hank Aaron
    OF Dave Justice

The Florida Marlins are next and probably won't take too long considering a lot of guys are still in the game...[/QUOTE

How about 2B Glen Hubbard and 3B Bob Horner

The Washington Senators (that version) are now the Texas Rangers (another version are now the Minnesota Twins). The Washington Nationals used to be the Montreal Expos. Frank Howard never played for the Expos. He is on the Rangers roster, however.

As for Bob Horner and Glenn Hubbard, there wasn't room for Horner. I wanted him in, but there was nowhere for him. Eddie Matthews and Chipper Jones were better than him. He'll probably be on the 40-man roster, though. I don't see Hubbard making it. He was a memorable player and I have fond memories of him, but he wasn't really that great at anything in particular, IMO. If I do continue editing after the 40-man rosters are done, I'll make him one of the free agents, as well as a bunch of other guys that were around, but didn't make any teams.

Yeah sounds good you can put Stan the Man in the Outfield. Play Mize & Pujols at 1st.

What about Rusty Staub for the Expos they retired his number?

So I'm stuck on the Nationals, half out of laziness, half out of disinterest. One of my least favorite teams to do so far...finding a 1B who wasn't Andres Galarraga (Rockies) was like pulling teeth, so I just went with Adam Dunn, their current 1B. I know he was with the Reds a long time, but they're pretty stacked without him...and the pickings are slim for this franchise.

Not quite done just yet, but I managed to put together the final roster:

        SP Bryn Smith
        SP Dennis Martinez
        SP Javier Vazquez
        SP Bill Gullickson

        RP Mel Rojas
        RP Tim Burke
        RP Ken Hill
        CP Jeff Reardon

        C Gary Carter
        C Darrin Fletcher
        1B Adam Dunn
        1B Nick Johnson
        2B Jose Vidro
        2B Delino DeShields
        SS Orlando Cabrera

Not a bad idea at all. I totally overlooked Staub being on the Expos since he spent so many years with other teams, but that's looking to be what I'll go with...thanks, man.

Update: With Roster Tools still not working for pitching stats, I'm a little stalled on the pitchers right now. I'm doing appearances and waiting for the fix to occur. I mostly used Knight's Strasburg stats to get him done. In the meantime, I'll start on the Mets position players hopefully today sometime. Got a couple of long work days coming up, so I want to get a whole lot done today.

I think Andres Galarraga would be the easy choice for Montreal at 1st base. Cool roster set, looking forward to the final version.

I went with Rusty Staub. He wasn't already on another roster...and is probably my best option at this time. Dunn's still on the roster, just as a backup now...

I agree with where you put all these guys. Seeing as how the Rockies have really only had 2 first basemen (albeit they were 2 good ones), you about have to put Galarraga on that team. You can always assign Tim Wallach 1B as his secondary position too, as he did play quite a few games there.

Wallach does have a secondary 1B position...and yes, Todd Helton is on the Rockies. I don't think it would be the Rockies without him

Dunn is on the Nats/Expos so I'm guessing it's not only for retired players - unless that was just an exception.

Yeah, there's tons of active players on some teams, especially teams like the Marlins, D-Backs, Rockies, etc. who've been around a short amount of time, so it's not just retired guys.

I've finished the Nationals except for the pitchers' ratings. The Mets will probably be as follows unless something changes:
