      Re: 1989 Complete Rosters

These rosters are pretty fun to do. They've gotten me back into checking out old baseball cards, buying some old sets I never got as a kid, and getting my old "Starting Lineups" down from the attic to look at those occasionally. I've got hundreds of those for anyone who remembers them. I've done the '90 A's so far, that team is a lot of fun to play with. I'll post a link to the progress soon.

If anyone see's any mistakes, feel free to point them out btw.

Yes! Starting Lineups were awesome I actually made a park on posterboard as a kid and would use a tiny little toy ball and attempt to play games lol...I remember having a whole cubs squad of em...Sutcliffe, Berryhill, Grace, Banks, Williams, and on and on...pretty sure I even had a Mitch Williams Cubs one at one point...looking back at old cards sets is a ton of fun as well

Any chance of an upload link on here? And I SWEAR I'll get to zipping up the 91 rosters tonight or tomorrow!

I did a couple minor leaguers for this roster. I've done 13 so far and they are up in the vault (Username: PhilParent)

Done with DM's calculator using minorleaguesplits's Minor League Equivalency Calculator to project minors stats to MLB. Some have surprisingly low stats (Walker, for one), but that's what the calculator says.

              I'm open to requests!

              Here`s the list:

              - Montreal AAA-AA -

              Larry Walker
              Marquis Grissom
              Delino DeShields
              Mike Blowers
              Gilberto Reyes
              Junior Noboa
              Alonzo Powell
              Marty Pevey
              Jeff Huson
              Darryl Motley
Razor Shines (Now, THAT'S a name!)

              - Baltimore AAA -

              Bill Moore

              - Houston AAA -

              Brick Smith

I've got an '88 season with my A's right now, I'm something like 50-21. Glenn Hubbard is having a pretty crazy season so far with an OBP of over .400 (?) Canseco, McGwire and Henderson are starting to cool off, but still putting up big numbers. I haven't played an inning with the '89 rosters, but I'm trying to finish up '90 so I can get a season going with those, A's were STACKED that year. I'm zooming though '90, I'm finishing about 2 teams per day. They should be done fairly soon.

Yeah, I'll try to get '89 up before the weekends over.

In other news, I've got about 5 teams left for '90, then I've got to update equipment Lastly, just have to update all the retired guys to the later expansion teams.

I just ordered 1990 and 1991 Leaf sets, I remember the Frank Thomas was through the roof for awhile way back when. I got them both sets for about $25. I remember being envious of a friend who had a few of those back then. I also got the Topps Big complete series from '88-'90 for about $30 in pages. Also got the '91 Fleer set (the yellow ones). Still loboking for the '91 Upper Deck for cheap. I've been kind of surprised by how cheap you can get these sets now. Pretty fun hobby to get back into.

Here's 90, 91, and 92 sets, bid is around 15 bucks right now. Yeah those first 3 years of Upper Deck were to me the most exciting time I could remember for cards. That and Stadium Club

I've already got '90, and I'm stopping at the '91 sets. If you wait around with those you can find em pretty cheap.
