10 new 1989 minors edits... up in the vault @ user PhilParent...

    - ATL MLB -

Sergio Valdez (One of the worst pitchers to have put the Expos to shame. Ended 1989 in MLB with Atlanta though.)

    - MTL AAA-AA-A -

Bret Barberie (Honest little utility guy here. I liked him.)
Urbano Lugo (Spitball not included. You are to use the kosher forkball, instead)
    Scott Anderson
    Robbie Wine
    Pat Pacillo
Dan Gakeler (Former scab. With Boston I believe)
    Nelson Norman
    Jeff Dedmon

Started a season (Mets) with the 1988 set ... outstanding work! Love the attention to detail, PJ. You really do a great job with these. I'll be using Oakland with the 1989 set.

First game of the season, Randy Johnson shuts me out for 8 2/3 innings before Carney Lansford drills a 2 run single. Ken Griffey Jr. homers and drives in 4, A's lose 9-2

PJ awesome job on all 3 sets man.

I am currently doing an 88 season replay with the Yankees. For 89 I will run with the Blue Jays and then I looked over 90 and decided to run with The Royals.

That will keep me busy for some time!

The '90 Royals were a big let down I remember. They picked up Mark Davis and Storm Davis that off season, and both of them had atrocious years. Bo is a beast in '90 and Brett won the batting title that year. I'm sticking with my A's, Willie McGee is tearing it up for me right now.

Here's 90, 91, and 92 sets, bid is around 15 bucks right now. Yeah those first 3 years of Upper Deck were to me the most exciting time I could remember for cards. That and Stadium Club
Yeah, I remember the card game was pretty intense when UD came out. I actually found my 1988-90 Donruss collections. Not sure how I wound up with those as I was always a Topps guy.

I was a Topps guy when I was a kid too. I've got hundreds of useless commons up in my attic. I just went back recently and bought all of the other sets from those years, kind of surprised by how cheap they are. That Canseco rated rookie was going for up to $50 back in the day, you can get it offf Ebay for like 5 bucks now.

This is fun! So my choices of teams for each of these roster sets will be as follows.
'88: Reds. I'm about 10 games in with them at the moment as I try to wrap up my '94 season on '12. Once that's done this one will take off.
                            '89: Either Royals or Giants.
'90: For sure the Pirates. I remember in 8th grade taking graph paper and drawing Barry Bonds and all his stats for the '90 season along with "1990 NL MVP". I may end up skipping straight to this season...I've really been wanting to play out a Pirates season. Although I'll probably end up playing either the '88 or '90 season on the PS3 and the other on the Vita. That way I can play both.

These will keep me busy for a while!

I think the prices dropped a lot when the internet showed everyone how common early 90's cards were. They printed A LOT.

But the memories are still worth the same. As a kid nothing would beat the thrill of opening a pack and getting a new Expo that I did not have. I remember being so happy when I opened a pack of Scores and got Walker.

This 80's kid loved his trading cards. Sad it's no longer really popular from what I can see.

Well the cool thing about doing 30 team control season replays is if I do not make the post season I still can still play it.

I am very tempted by the 1990 Pirates. Loved that team
