Now that I think about it...... I don't want to use pitch edits from last year because the actual ratings are from the '09 season

Clayton Kershaw is a perfect example.....After seeing the spreadsheet If I use the edits it will actually make his slider worse then it actually is because the pitch ratings are from the '09 season when his slider was poor

I'm not going to use edits until someone tackles current pitch edits from the 2010 season

Forget what I said about adding DL players back.. That's something that people can do if they choose

I forgot it's suppose to be an Opening day roster, Not current day...My bad

good point. I am going to wait to hear from JaSnake, Knight and HustlinOwl to see if we should even bother doing these. I'd hate to make guys worse than they actually are.

It's not hard to do pitch-edits if you don't worry about movement (Pitch f/x does give you vertical and horizontal break, but that's hard to put into a rating). Control, velocity, and pitch-type are easily done and can be re-done to reflect what happened last season. I don't have the time right now, but I'm pretty fluent with Pitch f/x and the databases so perhaps I can start doing some of this once I'm totally free next weekend.

Good idea... Some clarification from JaSnake or RAZRr about what season the ratings are based from would be nice. I'm all for getting actual pitch types in but not at the expense of making those pitches better or worse then they actually are

I'm sure there will still be a demand for these to be done even if the ratings are outdated because some people don't care about ratings as long as the pitch types are correct, I'm just not one of them

Unless I misunderstood what you are doing with this thread and the edits, I am really confused. I grabbed them and loaded them and first thing I noticed is that most pitchers have the 4 seamer as the primary pitch. Which is kinda pointless...no?

The ones runandshoots just finished didn't have pitch edits yet.just everything else
