Possibly. You'd have to wait for Bodizzy to weigh in. It was the one team that I was aware of that he might have started. If he sees the posts or the PM I sent him, I'm sure he'll respond in a few days. If he says so, you can certainly take the Giants.

Yeah, I like the diversity of talent on the spreadsheets. I think it's good that the spreadsheets don't have 30 evenly rated teams. But this is still an experiment and I'll be interested to see it all assembled. If there are some flaws, we'll have a chance to polish things at the end.

As far as the salaries, that might be another thing I'll have to do once I assemble the roster is to move the players into and out of Free Agency. I know that works to change up the contracts. People use that method to get longer contracts for players before starting a franchise. I might want to do that at the end, once all of the ratings have been entered, in order to generate more realistic salaries.

OK Padres are complete. There is 37 total. 20 from the Hitters/Fielders spreadsheet and 17 from the Pitchers spreadsheet. Are you gonna fill the final 3 spots? Or do you want me to do it? If you have a plan, thats cool, but dont add more work for your self at the end if its not necassary.

Do you want me to send you the Padres file or continue working and send them with the other teams later?

Its 3am and I'm off to bed. I'll have a little time to work on them tomorrow but Ive got some family things to do so I"ll have more time this weekend.

              Well done, Sluggbugg.

37 is more than enough. At the very end I'm going to have to import players from everyone, import players over the MLBPA players spots, and do some other things. So I'm going to have some importing to do from another SCEA roster(s) anyways, and adding a few extra players will be very little extra time. In fact, I'm fine with the idea that we're just making the starters and "main character" kinds of players, because it takes a fraction of the time to export/import an already made SCEA player, even if that player needs some minor ratings tweaks.

And I would encourage you to send me completed players now, since I wouldn't mind spreading the export/import process out over a few weeks, rather than doing it all at the end in one or two marathon sessions. The Padres would be the first team I've tried this for, so I'll have a chance to experiment with a couple different methods in order to find one that I like. Knight has already suggested some things to me, but I have yet to try them out and get familiar with it.

              Thanks.

                  Re: Fictional Rosters

Yeah hopefully PSN will be back tomorrow.

The way I did the Padres RM was I removed any player on the team who had MLB experience by trading them to another team for players that did not have MLB experience (ie generic players).

That gave me a roster of 90 players on the Padres of people that had no MLB experience. From that list it was pretty easy to find enough players with the ratings I needed.

Then using the spreadsheets provided, created the 20 hitters/fielders and 17 pitchers. The other 53ish players I just edited their name to "qq". So there are 53 players named "qq" on the Padres roster and then the 37 players that you actually want. They have all been moved to the 40 man roster as well, so they should easy to find. lol

I may play a game or two tonight since the new patch is out and then I'll get back to work. I'm super excited about this project though. I watched the "New" Padres play a couple innings last night before i went to bed, it just made me more excited!

Sounds good everyone. I'll update the first post of the thread with progress.

Mr. Random, I think you're right that taking SF is probably fine. Even if Bodizzy does them too, the only difference will be in the appearances, and then I'll just chose from between the two rosters.

It seems like we're gaining momentum. This is good.

Diamondback Hitter/fielders are done. 21 of them for some reason. Can't count right I guess at 2am. lol I could delete Eldon Short cause he is AWFUL! The spreadsheet comes up with some weird combos sometimes. He won't start for their AA team but for some reason I'm attached to the kid and just can't pull the plug on him. lol

SEE!!!! This is why this project is sooooo awesome. Growing attached to a player that doesn't even exist...even though he's awful!! Guarantee if you fantasy draft to start your fic chise and see him there in the late rounds...you pick him up!!! Because you have some weird attachment to "the kid"

                                I love it!
