Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
I ran a few sims. I'm gonna lower a bunch of ratings, Walker kept getting called up in Sept and held his own. I had to remake Paxton, he kept decreasing to a C pot, as did Franklin. Pryor went to an A in one sim, stayed a B in the others.
I'm gonna have to remake Cat as well. Him, Seager, and Martinez all ended up being almost exactly the same.Cosmetic Guides to the Show v2 Rosters

Montero's is perfect. Makes sense they put actual time and effort into a former Yankee. Bet they weren't too happy they spent so much time on him after he landed in Seattle. What a waste.. lol
Have to admit Ackley is pretty good. Shoulda had a beard but thats nitpicking.Mariners Seahawks Sonics UW Sounders

In franchise mode does the player card still have the blurbs about the player's current skillset and potential? I'm not sure which blurb corresponds to + or -, but check this list of descriptions out:
Edit:
Wow so they don't even list the descriptions in franchise anymore? How are we supposed to tell a B+ from a B- now?Last edited by seanjeezy; 03-20-2012, 03:07 AM.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Wow I've never seen a decrease in potential in the Show before, what were Paxton's stats?

His stats weren't horrible one yr his ERA was in the 3.4s another in the 4s. but it was AA so that might be why.
I remade him and gave him an actual face, looks ok but needs a little work.Cosmetic Guides to the Show v2 Rosters

There's a pot. bar when you go to renew contracts of players. It's not perfect, b/c it seems like players potentials are a bit more fluid this yr. It's not like D's go to A's but it seems like a handful of guys go up or down a level.

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
Ackley was traded in his age 28 season to the yankees for 1 C pot, 1 F pot, and 1 B pot during the offseason
Montero was traded to the yankees in his age 29 season during the offseason
For some reason a duplicate Taijuan Walker ended up on the yankees, had inferior stats to M's Walker
Hultzen and Walker had almost maxed out OVR bars, , but for some reason Walker always had a ERA in the 4-5 range, it took him until his age 26 season to have an ERA under 4 (3.77). His career record at that point was about 12 games under .500. Hultzen had a winning record and a career ERA of 3.5 at that point.
Be wary of the Tigers, LOL - at one point they had Verlander, Felix, Prince, Cabrera, Hamilton, and a maxed out Matusz. Every single offseason they picked up one of the top tier, if not the best, free agent. Prince Fielder won the MVP I think 3 times in 7 years
Regarding Paxton, he didn't start progressing until his age 27 season, and it was only by 1 or 2 points
Since I had trades off during the season, the positions where the M's have excess (3B, SS, LF) had a lot of logjams, guys like F-Mart and Franklin did not get a clear shot at starting until they were ~27-28, and then during the offseason, the CPU would sign players for positions not in need, ex: M's signed Markakis at age 34, forcing Wells to play center, Guti to the bench, and Pimentel to AAA. Vargas and Noesi were signed as retreads in 2018, blocking Erasmo and Victor Sanchez
The C pot guys like Castillo, Littlewood, etc. were still stuck in AA by 2019, barely progressed at all
Is anyone aware of which sliders affect sim games? Once I bumped up starter stamina 1 click, it seemed like my starters were giving up less runs, the CPU was probably leaving them in too long, and then the bullpen comes in and gives up runs
Last thing - Strikeout totals were way too low in minor league games, the first season Taijuan Walker had a K/BB ratio of ~77/55 or something like that, which is god awful. By 2019, Walker had a K/9 rating of 81, not high enough IMO, I feel like he can be a 230 K guy in his prime, he was hovering around 190 most of his careerBakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Ks are kinda like HRs in the minors, actually I think most of the counting statistics are wacky through the minors. I wouldn't worry too much about itCosmetic Guides to the Show v2 Rosters

He is on the low end of the A range which is probably incorrect. I think it might just be him regressing to the low A potential.Cosmetic Guides to the Show v2 Rosters
