Alright here is the next version of the ratings calculator.

This is a massive overhaul. There is now a calculator for both batters and pitchers.

All on one sheet for each batters and pitchers is ratings using both TripleThreats formulas as well as Bahnzo's. These are clearly labeled to show whose they are.

They also include ZiPS rating as well as composite ratings from 2010-12 splits. It is very simple now to compare a given player's ZiPS projection rating with his "real" splits rating.

Pitcher ratings are included for Stamina, Durability, H/9, HR/9, SO/9, BB/9.

Any help is always appreciated and please let me know if there are any issues.

I'm guessing when you're using it just says zips, its not the updated one right?

Here's what I think the best ones to use would be....

Correct. I am thinking about changing that though.

The issue is that the one that is just ZiPS has a ton more players on it and thus provides more ratings. But the updated ZiPS are more accurate.

Yeah that is what I am leaning. I just decided to provide people all the different options. I just now added an average calculation to it so I can quickly get an average composite rating based on all the different formulas. Might be the best way to go.

Don't really know much about what ZiPS is or how ratings are calculated, but I downloaded the roster and thought it was pretty cool. With the ratings overhauled and all the extra edits to the OSFM base I was impressed!

Thanks for sharing this with the community. I'll continue to lurk here and see what kind of changes are being made and if I come across any errors I'll let you know.

Just wanted to add that the only flaw I've seen with the ratings is that strikeouts are high for all pitchers. I've run 5 sims and everything looks great IMO except 25-30 pitchers throw for over 200 strikeouts when in reality only about 10-15 should.

Maybe adjust the calculator to lower K/9 a few points?
