Re: Scott's OSFM ZiPS Re-rated Rosters
I really like the ZiPS methodology so with that in mind and my inability to read so many posts to see if its talked about here, how exactly are you using ZiPS in your re-rate and does it include all the minor league guys that were included in the OSFM roster?Originally posted by theenginePlus, there are lots of illiterate Pro Bowlers. Just ask Chad Johnson....Comment

Re: Scott's OSFM ZiPS Re-rated Rosters
We are hoping so too! LOL Seriously though, thank you again for sharing this masterpiece with us. V1 was excellent after minor adjustments to AJ Burnett and Brad Emaus. When you add in fixing the prospects potentials with Panda and yankdaniels assisstance with ZiPS(u), this will be a masterpiece no doubt.
HechticSooner: The minors were better than the OSFM rosters in V1 and will be even better here. The OSFM guys were too high on many prospects and they got over rated on their potentials with a small number underrated. Scott is using an excel spreadsheet with established formulas to translate ZiPS(u) into player ratings. Thus, it will take the preseason ZiPS projections and make small adjustments based on how players are doing this season. It will just correct for the projected ratings which were a little too far off. For instance, ZiPS seemed to love Brad Emaus and Millone, rating them better than it should have...ZiPS(u) corrects that and others such as Adam Dunn (still a walk, strikeout, HR guy but hitting .210 instead of .175, estimates). I hope this answers your question.Comment

Re: Scott's OSFM ZiPS Re-rated Rosters
So by end of the weekend you mean like Sunday right bc that's the last day of the weekend? (joking guys). Just letting Scott know that I'm done with all of the first round guys as well as Joey Gallo and Lance McCullers so that still leaves me around 17 CAPs to edit. If anyone wants to take a crack at appearances I'll give you a list of guys I haven't gotten to. This weekend will be busy super for me so and I don't want to be the guy that prevents this great roster from dropping ASAP. Thanks to Scott, Yanks, and anybody else that has contributed. It's been an honor having a small role in this huge project.Comment
