I can tell people how this works, believe me, its not as slow as it seems if you get it down. You just need time to do it. Man I wish I could get somebody to do each team from 1988 to this season, would save me a lot of time, but again, I know I'm asking a lot...
I already have the info inputted. No, I can't figure out how to link to Baseball-Reference, Fangraphs, or the others so it auto-updates, but all the data is there. It is for this reason that I can't see anyway your calculator is superior to mine. Maybe you like the formulas better, but it would take no time at all to add in your formulas to my calculator.

But yeah if someone could come in here that knew how to link them to one of the stats sites, that would be awesome.

How far back does your data go, from what year to what year?

ZiPS for this year and then cumulative stats for 2010-12 for both pitches and batters. This was basically all that was needed for the game rosters IMO. I'd love to find a good site where I could copy over minor league stats into the file, but the formatting gets jacked up or I can't copy at all on the sites I have tried.

Use the site called minorleaguecentral.com. I think it has some decent splits if you ask me..

How does your RK Beta work? Do I just type in name, and it gives me stats? I try to type in ABBREV. and I get error message!

You have to type in the Abbrev on the stat page, and then find it in the drop down menu next to Abbrev on the first page, then find the player you want after you have entered everybody's stats on the stat page. The calculators will do the rest once the stats are in...

Quick question, I am going to try and use your calculator to see what I end up with for my created players, I was just wondering what the RC and BUH stand for??? My guess would be that the RC is Runs Created, if I am right, where would I find this info? I get all my stats from Baseball Reference. BUH, I haven't been able to put a guess on that one. Thanks for all your hard work!

Yes RC is Runs Created and you find it by clicking on the BATTING link, and scroll down to ADVANCED BATTING STATS, RC is like the third or forth category...

If I had to guess, BUH would be bunt hits.

Thanks guys, of course after I posted my message, I started to look around the baseball reference site and found the runs created column. As for the BUH, after thinking about it for a bit and looking at all the stats, I did end up guessing that but glad to know I was right. Thanks for your help! Hope you guys are enjoying the game!

                        Re: The best ratings calculator?

So I am having a bit of trouble using this excel sheet when it comes to fielding, clutch, bunting, and arm strength/accuracy ratings.

I am using this to try and update Junior Lake, the newly called up outfielder for the Chicago Cubs. Can anyone run some numbers for me and get me his full attribute list?

Playing with the calculator I get:
                        Overall 79
                        Con R 77
                        Con L 80
                        Pow R 56
                        Pow L 52
Bunt Ability 23 (Not From Calculator)
Drag Bunt 22 (Not From Calculator)

                        Vision 56
                        Discipline 47
                        Clutch (Not From Calculator)
                        Durability 71
                        Speed 68
Arm Strength 72 (Not From Calculator)
Arm Accuracy 52 (Not From Calculator)
                        Reaction 46 (Not From Calculator)
                        Fielding 51 (Not From Calculator)

                        BR Ability 73
                        BR Aggressiveness 28

Now, I am generally pretty good at utilizing excel; however, there is a lot going on inside this particular sheet. My big question (step by step if you can) is how do you link that stats to the player name so that all you have to do is click the drop down menu and select a player?

Thanks guys this calculator is far more advanced than anything I have ever seen or tried to make myself.

Basically if you are just going to do one player, don't worry about positions or anything, just type something, ANYTHING, into the team name and abbrev parts, and the put a name into the player part, and horizontally fill in each category for that player straight from Baseball-Reference.com. The Calculator will dothe rest once you find your abbreviation and player name in the drop down menus on the first page...

Just curious. Do you guys use the current year's stats only to determine rankings? Or, the players' career stats in the minors at all levels?

Thanks for all the hard work on this, looks great!

I cannot find the RC area at all. Is it the wRC or wRC+?

The third group of stats on this page is where it is, Advanced Batting, 7th column in (RC), the next column is RC/G. Hope that helped!
