Anyone have a Fujikawa in the vault? Probably shouldnt have 5 pitches. Also his last pitch has no ratings.

Re: Cubs Player Potential Discussion: 2013 OSFM roster
The bears and the packers "rivalry" is extremely uneventful
Both teams have almost never been good together
If anything its only viewed as a rivalry because its a division opponent
You clear don't know what constitutes a rivalry if you really think The Cubs and Sox aren't rivals just because they're in different Leagues
And what does the Bears Packers Rivalry record have to do with anything
You clearly didn't look enoughhttp://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/15045/soriano-would-consider-trade-to-yankees
If you quote blog posts, we'll be here all week going back and forth. Cashman has already said that they will look internally to find a replacement, and that was after getting Wells. Epstein has already said Soriano is too valuable to this team at the present to get rid of him.. If the Yanks fall behind the Orioles, Jays, or Red Sox, I doubt they tie themselves to two years worth of a 37 yr old declining corner outfielder.. It's not the opinion of a forum poster, but simple economics. Granderson wil be back in may, so the Yanks won't need to panic about their OF situation. Epstein has said recently if the Cubs are way down, they'd consider getting rid of Soriano to only a contender who offers solid prospects.. Which is why I said Baltimore... Maybe Arizona or another team that's contending.. You are going off of theories back almost 2 months to last year.
As far as rivalries go, I'm from Chicago and we could give 2 craps about the sox cubs series.. The Bears Packers rivalry is better because you have the top 2 teams all time in wins playing against each other in the same division, twice a year.. So your assumption about them hardly being good at the same time is completely inaccurate and down right silly..Comment

Re: Cubs Player Potential Discussion: 2013 OSFM roster
The White Sox vs Cubs rivalry is artificial and boring. It's a joke rivalry that only matters to the casual fans.
The Cubs have a much more interesting and relevant rivalry with the Cardinals. Honestly, in the stretch from 07-10, the best Cubs rivalry was with Milwaukee. That was intense and heated.
Like I said, the White Sox rivalry is silly and forced. It doesn't feel authentic or necessary at all. It's purely for the casual fans in Chicago to bark at each other. The players (outside of the Pierzynski thing) don't care about the rivalry and rarely ever have.Comment

Re: Cubs Player Potential Discussion: 2013 OSFM roster
someone noticed I left Fujikawa with a 0 SCV. I changed the order of his pitches and his movement at the last minute after asking Seanjeezy. He interpreted his pitch f/x data better I would assume so I used his movements, but I guess I forgot to change his SCV. His overall remained an 81 after I put in Jeezy's edits so I didn't notice his SCV was a 0.
Anyways it should be
SCV 73.5 MPH 71 movement, control in line with his other pitches so in the 40-44 range should be good. This does raise him to an 82 overall to those who thought he was a bit low, only 1 pt though.Last edited by jseward92; 04-03-2013, 03:49 PM.Comment

Re: Cubs Player Potential Discussion: 2013 OSFM roster
I'm not doing it for obvious reasons, but you can make a crazy spring trade as the Cubs. For some reason, the Tampa Bay Rays REALLY want Darwin Barney. You can reverse that Garza trade plus some. Best deal I found was Barney and a backup catcher for Matt Moore, Chris Archer, and Taylor Guerrieri.
The Dodgers what him bad also and will give Puig and Jansen plus some. I'm not busting my franchise but I thought it was funny that this is possible.Comment

Packers and bears have not been good at the same time in a while
I know people in NY who think of the Cubs white sox rivalry more than the boring packers bears rivalry
Cubs have a larger fan base than the bears so I would see more people caring about the cubs rivalry
And the only reason they're the teams with the most wins is because they're by far older than any other franchise so its not like it mattersComment

Cubs vs White Sox - they both average around 70,000-75,000 viewers per game.
So your theory is BS..Last edited by Birdman18; 04-03-2013, 10:25 PM.Comment

On Topic: Not too torn up about Whitenack being claimed. I wish the best for him, but he's got a long road ahead of him to return to his former self.Cubs

Bears vs Packers- 8.6 million tv viewers

Nowhere in my post did I say that. I said the cubs have a larger fan base and that much is evident with their own Broadcasting channel. In case you weren't aware most Football games are shown on national TV so theres not really much weight behind that argument
Now that we got your straw man argument out of the way The cubs have their own National Coverage albeit on a different stage with WGN showing most of their games Nationally but to a smaller base of people. Now please continue with your straw menComment

I guess the Lakers have a deeper Rivalry with the Suns than the celtics because of the different conferencesComment

Re: Cubs Player Potential Discussion: 2013 OSFM roster
Looks like they may have nerfed Junior Lakes Arm Strength as well. It's currently at a 68. Right now Josh Vitters & Christian Villanueva have stronger arms, and Ian Stewart & Jeimer Candelario are only slightly behind Lake in that dept. Was this intended? If not, what do you think a good rating would be? Mid-to-high 80's?
I'm assuming they knocked Baez down because he was becoming too good too quickly? Just a guess.
I noticed the Fujikawa issue late last night as well, thanks for posting the ratings for the SCV.
Great job man!! If I noticed anything else I'll make sure to point it out!
I see lake as being fairly close to his b- ceiling, so 68 might be too low for him to progress to the arm that he has. I think high 70s or 80 would get him up there. I'm not home so I can't check my sim franchises to see exactly how his arm progresses.
I can't check right now but maybe I left lake too low myself.Comment

Re: Cubs Player Potential Discussion: 2013 OSFM roster
Yes I suppose the cubs fighting for last place with the astros last year is more interesting than watching 2 teams from the same city play to see who comes out on top but thats just because the Sox are in a different league so by all means lets cherish hype up one division team over a team thats in the same city solely because one is in a different league
I guess the Lakers have a deeper Rivalry with the Suns than the celtics because of the different conferences
MrOldBoy - Yeah, I just threw Lake up to an 82 Arm Strength like you had in the original Cubs OSFM roster posted to the vault. I think I wound up matching Baez for the most part from that set as well, comparitively speaking, him being rated that low doesn't seem fair.
Who are you guys replacing Whitenack with? Any CAP's you can upload to the vault MrOldBoy? Thanks!Cubs
