Re: OSFM 2013: Chicago White Sox

Meanwhile, here is a nice breakdown of Viciedo's added leg kick.

Also, the game has Viciedo listed as 3B, with NO secondary position....so that obvious needs to be adjusted.

Also, they give Sale a slider, which may be technically correct, but the SLURVE gives much more credit to what Sale's pitch actually looks like. His slider has a LOT of downward and sideways movement to it, as you all know. The game's built in sliders don't have enough drop.

Tell me about it lol... From what I've seen so far, there are hardly any slurves, sweeping curves, running fastballs, and circle-changes.

Does this look like a normal slider to anyone else?

        LOL

Hawkins, Sanchez, and Thompson should all be near A's for potential

          E. Johnson and S. Snodgress seem to be Bs

To be honest the top 10 Sox prospects are talented. No one should be under a B-

That's awfully generous. Of those you listed, I would do...

            Hawkins - (A)
            Thompson - (B+)
            Sanchez - (B)
            Johnson - (B-)
            Snodgress - (B-)

Just watched Beckham's AB today. He is no longer holding his bat flat back, but he is in a pretty deep crouch. Not quite Bagwell, but he is sitting pretty low.

I don't agree with that. Our system is ranked #28 or #29 for a reason. We only have a couple high upside guys, a couple middle prospects, and a ton of fringy guys.

Let me see who the other 5 you are thinking of, and I'll give you my opinion of their potential grades. I can't think of anyone who deserves higher than a C+.

EDIT: MAYBE I'd give Simon Castro a B-, but that would be based on his dominance this spring, which isn't a very large sample size. Rienzo and Molina would all be C or C- guys in my mind.

That is heavily overvaluing the Sox prospects.

I wouldn't even be that kind to Castro. He has fallen from where he once was. C+ would be what I give him, and even then he is going to have to light the world on fire to get into the Sox rotation. Seems like a #4 or 5 at the very best.

                        Stances and windups so far.

Jose Quintana - Wei Yin Chen
                        Jesse Crain - David Robertson
                        Hector Santiago - H. Alvarez
                        Nate Jones - Brandon League
                        Brian Omogrosso - R. Dickey
                        Donnie Veal - Vinnie Pestano
Addison Reed - Wilhelmsen (fits him better than the one they gave him IMO, although the one they gave him is fine)
Tyler Flowers - N. Reimold (could also use Espinosa without leg kick)
Adam Dunn - J. Saltalamacchia (use two-handed swing and style 1 practice swing) - there's finally a good stance for Dunn. Not 100% perfect, but pretty damn close.
Jeff Keppinger - B. Belt - does the leg kick by default, which Keppinger's stance does not have.

He'll eventually change it again...whatever he's doing isn't working too well thus far.

It does have a secondary position listed for Viciedo. If you press triangle it says "1B, LF, RF" and if you change his first position to LF then it says: "1B, 3B, RF" so just change his first position

Are they going to change Hector Santiago to actually look like Hector does? Or are they going to leave him looking like a white guy with a red beard?

They will change him when he gets traded to the Yankees or Rangers. Lol.
