Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
LOL when I said I wish someone would have answered you by now I didn't necessarily mean you. There are many others knowledgeable of 30 team control I'm sure. Your replies to me were helpful and I never said I had the screen problem, In fact I've never even attempted the 30 team control yet. I just assumed that's what would happen because I'm used to seeing 1 team control. I realized after posting back and forth with you that because you are in fact controlling 30 teams, this wouldn't happen. I usually figure things out for myself but I've been so busy I was trying to get a head start and gather all the info I can about 30 team control.
When he mentioned his problem, which turned out not to be a problem, I thought maybe this was a possiblility.
Yep. You can assign as many Human profile as you want (in this case 2 Humans, 28 CPUs).Comment

How do I change the option for Injuries in Franchise? I always thought that option was at the Franchise setup screen? I don't see anywhere to change this.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
Try this....go put all the custom profiles you have to manual for injuries.
I just had an instance where I tried a single team franchise with manual injuries...put my profile as default and couldn't get to any other team but mine.
I went to a profile that I always use for other teams...and changed it to manual(even though it really isn't assigned to any of them....I was using single team) and saved it anyway...and I could get to the DL screens.

Verdict: ok i'm a moron, "In the "Options" screen, leave everything intact. Note that "Forced Trades" doesn't have to be ON in a 30-team controlled franchise, as you pretty much have the last say over any offer that you make with any of the 30 MLB teams. You can of course use your own judgement there or, as a reference, use the Official Trade Discussion Thread where users can give you some good insight if you want. The OS Arbitration Panel Thread is another place worth a look at."
I was turning cpu roster control on, if you can't put people on the DL you are prob doing the same thing, once you just leave the settings as is, you will be fine

Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
I thought I would give this 30 team control a shot this year. At the very least to get everything set up realistically for opening day. Is there an easy way to go about getting all these manual injuries set to the right amount of days? I figure I'd ask you all first before I get started & most likely frustrated with it.Comment

Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
on a side note.....even if you have things set to "auto" on the profile for the other 29 teams (or the human team) You can still go in and make changes. IE if you have roster moves set to auto, you can still make manual roster moves, it just means the CPU will also make those moves. So, that third profile is really not necessary.Comment

Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
It might be useful to see this thread expanded to better explain different methods of control other than 30 team. I'm new to the series and still trying to figure out what way I want to play a franchise.
I'd like to play the games with as close to real lineups and rosters as possible, but I don't want to manage the day to day injury replacements for computer teams.
Maybe I could do 30 team control...but even if I were willing to fix the lineups for injuries, the computer wouldn't give players days off for rest, would it? And autofixing lineups for injuries would reset all the batting orders anyway so I think I want single team control.
As for single team control; "CPU roster control" looks useless. "Injuries will be ignored" is a vague description but my simming shows me that it does essentially mean "injuries are turned off." Yet it doesn't stop the CPU from signing FAs like Brian Wilson...looks like a useless setting to me.
It looks like most of the roster sets are set for 30 team control, with injured players in single A only gradually being promoted by the computer. Austin Jackson made it back to Detroit only at the end of August in my sim.
So what is the best way to have accurate rosters in a single-team control franchise? I'll turn trades off, and I'll use a 25 man roster set. I think to bring back the injured players in a more timely fashion I ought to either add guys on the 15 day DL to the 40 man roster or promote them to AAA. Which would work better? If they're on the 40 man, someone else gets sent to AAA at the end of spring training and I risk unwanted CPU roster shuffling through waivers. If I promote them to AAA but don't add them to the 40 man roster, will they still get promoted to the majors in a timely fashion?
edit-I guess that AAA method would require shifting a million other guys down to AA and A, so I guess I just should add 15 day DL guys to the 40 man and go from there.Comment

Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
Yes, the cpu will propose trades to you. They will also accept or reject trades you propose to them. They will also propose trades between each other. If you have instant trades set to off, you will be able to manually reject or accept any of those trades the cpu proposes for any of the cpu teams. You just have to check the pending transactionsComment

Re: The 30-Team Control Guide
How about a simple explanation for comprehensive franchise mode players.
I am looking for the way to have full 30 team control and be able to manage every move realistic to the actual day including manual injuries. My issue is that when I get into franchise mode and after my 25 man is set with my profile on all 30 teams that I cannot utilize the right stick to manage my minor league lineups. I am someone who likes to play all games and manage daily transactions. Help!Comment
