Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Well, with the NL officially being first in 1900 and the AL second in 1901 (the modern era of baseball), that would pretty much leave an alternate of 113-114 years. This long/baggy crap has been around maybe 10...a whole lot more of baseball has been with high socks, stirrups, or low at times. If you want to do an alternate universe, why not do what the majority of baseball has been about.
I was suggesting, and the attitude is getting hostile and snooty. Not what I want to be part of.Comment

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
It's been part of baseball for a LONG time this way...it just seems a shame to me how quick people are to trash it.Last edited by Billy...a_kid; 03-31-2014, 02:28 AM.Comment

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Well billy, I apologize, but it seems like you're just gonna have to put up with this "long baggy crap" in fictional rosters as well. You are highly opinionated; I myself, being raised primarily in this modern era, feel very different - i love baggy pants and high socks, and feel that low socks especially look very stupid. Anyways, feel free to edit the rosters once we're done, it shouldnt take more than a week to change them over to stirrup socks. It takes over a couple hundred hours to make them from scratch, and I plan to spend every one of these hours creating a MODERN DAY alternate to the MLB. Once again, I apologize, but understand that you are perfectly capable of doing these yourself if you want them so badly.I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
As I said I don't mind high socks, tight pants or whatever...I just hate stirrups because I wore them as a kid and hated them. I wanted regular high socks or long pants and I didn't really watch a lot of baseball in the 1900's so I don't have a nostalgia or warm fuzzy feeling about them. It's kinda like the mullet. It was a big thing in the day but don't plan on seeing a ton of them in game.Comment

So let me ask- on the eve of day 1 of roster work, does anybody else have any requests or advice we can consider? Now is the time to speak up.I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Why you think you have fooled everyone is another matter altogether. Slightly changing the way you present yourself does not change who you are.
For the other dude that has been a bit snippity, the Canucks dude, I am opinionated. Most people should be. I don't do rosters anymore, I had been doing them since about 1988. Nearly 25 years of it caused me to "theoretically" retire from it. I do (greatly) appreciate all the work people put into these, and my editing days are not completely over because I will go through and make stirrups for everyone and change silly hats to "normal" and odd facial hair configurations to normal-like people.
Then I will Fantasy Draft, and have fun. Enjoy lescan, guy's a whoot!Last edited by Billy...a_kid; 03-31-2014, 11:30 PM.Comment

All power to you for editing these into your "old timer" rosters once we're done, but I feel it's been made quite clear that this thread is pertaining to rosters depicting modern day style. Seriously, this has become ridiculous and it's time to get this thread back on track.I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
I might actually use these for my RTTS because I would like to myself a star in an alternate MLB Universe. And honestly I am fine with the high socks even though I don't really like them but can live with them. And also after reading this make more stars and also have the average age of the league at like 26 or 27. And also will you guys be able to change contracts at all so that way the stars should actually paid when we start our franchises. Those are just my opinionsComment
