Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Sounds good to me. Any of the Cardinals from last years team make it over? I made several of them and I'm curious who is still around.Comment

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
The Cards had 14 carry over. However, 5 are retiring and 3 are free agents. Nash, Law, Foley, and Irish are a few of the veterans who will be sticking around. They had a few prospects develop as well. If you're wondering about anybody else in particular let me know!I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Very good. If you're using any game generated fictional players, PLEASE make sure they all have believable apparel, appearances, etc. last year I had a guy submit one of "his" guys. It was A hispanic pitcher named Wong and he was 5'7. Its imperative to weed this out before submitting, or else it ends up taking me longer than if I had created them myself.
Thanks in advanceI play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
As far as I'm concerned all the players names, physical stats, likeness and ethnicity are realistic and I've made sure every name is in the broadcast list. If not I change the name so it is so no one will be referred to by their number.Comment

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Josh Becket (age 34) went down 8 or 9 in all stats, another utility player went down 12 (age 36), David Ortiz was -14 on everything.
I think it might be a mistake to make anyone over 30. Just a suggestion, but I know when I get my roster going, I am going to change everyone to 20 or lower. I know you had mentioned making someone 43, but by midseason the guy will be unplayable.
I love the work going in, and thanks, but I think age/regression could hurt this set if ages don't start young. I know that is why I didn't use last year's set, because so many people would be too old and regress after 1 season.
I think I have to make them all 20 or younger, because with the year-to-year saves, I'd like this roster to go for a while, and have people regress 15 to 20 seasons in (and maybe by then regression won't be what it is now).
In the sims I did, there were MANY other cases of severe regression on players under 35, which I still do not understand (I wish we had control of how much, or to turn regression off...good idea, but when a 34 year old drops from 90 to 80 in a season, it seems too drastic).
Again, just a suggestion/idea/comment. There for taking if you want. Thanks for all the work!Last edited by Billy...a_kid; 04-06-2014, 09:13 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
I rented MLB 14 just to see what it was like (already have the Ps4 version purchased), and sadly the regression was not good.
Josh Becket (age 34) went down 8 or 9 in all stats, another utility player went down 12 (age 36), David Ortiz was -14 on everything.

This is an idea you may want to talk to MLB Bob about seeing as he is going to be making a fictional roster with all new players. I think it would be a much more realistic possibility in that circumstance.
I didnt notice regression to that extreme so much, but just like last year, I will say that they botched it big time. Its as if the game treats each player the same-its almost as if the hit a wall at age 30, and thats always the start of the decline. Obviously, this in unrealistic... Just look at Big Papi go, lol.I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters
The idea has been in development ever since I saw king_riles carry over some players from the original set; I've been recording data from last year's rosters since late January!
Should be worth all the work once we can play with the finished product though!I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.
