No, simply to keep my AAA system worth playing. If the right trade came up and it happened to include Eloy Jimenez, then so be it, but I have a vision of who I want and what the future should be, until I can't afford it.

Does anyone think that Lake's speed is underrated in the game?

Also are there any players you think are over or underrated or have a certain skill/attribute that is over or underrated?

A few skills that I have noticed are:

Kyuji Fujikawa does not have a fork ball in his pitching arsenal. I am not the biggest scout of baseball, more of a fan really, but if I remember correctly, his fork ball was his strike out pitch.

2B Emilio Bonifacio got a major decrease in his baserunning abilities from the original roster to the first update, going from 99 Stealing to 85 and 98 BR aggressiveness to 87. He may not be a 99/98 but he is better than 85/87 in my opinion, probably a halfway point.

LF Junior Lake has a very underrated arm strength. It is one of his best attributes and one of the main things always talked about on his scouting reports coming up through the minors. A mid 70's arm strength is probably more accurate.

These are the only things that really stick out to me.

I'm waiting for the PS4 version so I can't check for myself but does Fujikawa have a Splitter or anything similar to a forkball? If so that's probably his forkball just with the wrong name.

Fujikawa does throw a splitter/forkball, but looking at his pitchf/x it looks like that pitch is being classified as a changeup. He has a changeup on the SCEA roster so I'm guessing that is why as I think they get all their pitcher data from MLB.com. Brooksbaseball does manual classification so they have it right. Seanjeezy uses brooksbaseball for his pitch edits so he'll be correct when he does that edit to the roster.

Watching Lake play outfield he hasn't really shown his elite arm yet, he can be short at times and bouce balls. They want him to hit the cutoff man and so far he's done a good job of that. He's still learning OF so the hope is that n the future he'll be able to judge when to air it out. His arm should be a bit higher, but he hasn't really shown his elite arm off much so far as an outfielder.

He also has an 84 potential so he will progress a bit. What is way too low is his speed rating. I understand it is linked to stealing as well, but he is not an average runner by any means. It sort of deflates his value as a player for online games where you can't edit players.

On Bonifacio I actually think his baserunning ratings are a bit high still. Looking at Knight's table and his career steal percent he should probably be in high 70s (~80%) as well as his aggressiveness base on the table.

I'm glad to know that I wasn't crazy with thinking his speed rating is off. I do remember seeing a scouting report that says he has an elite arm. So hopefully he'll start to show it off a little

Thanks for all your work on this, MrOldBoy. Can't wait to have an infield of Rizzo, Baez, Castro, and Bryant in a few years!

I forgot to ask if you'd keep Olt?

How would you set up your lineup?

It all depends on how their ratings progress. I could see it probably going like this:

                        1. Almora CF
                        2. Castro SS
                        3. Rizzo 1B
                        4. Baez 2B
                        5. Bryant 3B
                        6. Lake LF
                        7. Soler RF
                        8. insert catcher here

I would keep Olt at first to develop him as trade-bait until Bryant developed for a year or two, then hopefully trade him for a catcher. Unless some combination of Barney, Schierholtz, Castillo, Samardzija, and Wood could get me a stud catching prospect during year 1. Otherwise, I'd be using those players to trade for pitching prospects to develop.

What's wrong with Castillo? He's already one of the top defensive catchers in the national league and his bats not to shabby either.

I plan on keeping Castillo, he's also still decently young
