Watching the reds broadcast of the game today since I'm in Ohio and even their announcers are criticizing Renteria's lineup. Commenting about how he has 4 lefties at the top of the lineup and all righties at the end of the lineup rather than splitting them up a little. Hate to agree with their announcers but they're totally right in this case.

Yeah, it's pretty sad when an opposing team's announcers and the fan base in general can see the glaringly obvious mistakes you're making as a manager. Not a good start.

Which prospects do you realistically see making it up to the majors this season? And when do you think they'll make it up?

Before the season started I thought Baez for sure but given his slow start in Iowa I'm not so sure anymore. I see Hendricks making it up at some point. Maybe Bryant in Sept. although doubtul. Alcantara most likely will be up in September if not sooner. I could even see Villanueva getting a callup in September too. Of course, all of these are without regard to the 40 man roster and who we'll have to protect from Rule 5 status at the end of the season.

From what I've been reading Baez is typically a slow starter so he'll still probably be up.

Do you think they'll really call up Villanueva, with Valbuena possibly still there, Olt already up and Bryant possibly being called up too?

I've seen a few different articles that talk about Baez, Alcantara, Hendricks, Vizcaino, and Bryant are the most likely

I forgot about Vizcaino, I could see him being up too as long as his arm holds out fine. Villanueva is a tough one because there's a good chance he's ready at the end of this season but like you said, we already have so many 3B options. Valbuena can play elsewhere so that's not an issue. I would say if Olt doesn't pan out I could definitely see him being called up, if only to showcase him for potential trade suitors. If Olt sticks though I'm not sure what happens with him. As for Bryant, I think future with the Cubs ultimately lies in RF and not 3B because in addition to all the guys you mentioned coming up, there's also Candelario behind him who's also a pretty decent prospect himself.

He had to leave his first extended ST game due to injury about a week ago, haven't read much more into it. I did not expect him back for another couple months at the earliest honestly.

Honestly the backup position debate makes me wish the show would implement position changes like ncaa football had or dynamic changes based on physical attributes and experience. If I want to take my shortstop and move him to outfield, I should be able to do that but pay a penalty on reads until he adjusts over a half season of playing there.
Or once I move a minor league starter to the bullpen, he should switch to that if I put him the middle relief/closer spots.

I definitely like the position switch idea.

I'd love to have it dynamically change. It's be cool if it was something like the position a player has played the most in the last X number of games becomes his primary position. It'd also be cool if players had different ratings at different positions. I would absolutely love something like this because in real life I feel like it's pretty rare that someone plays one position from the time he's drafted until he retires. And at the same time, when players do switch positions they shouldn't be as good a fielder right from the get go.

Totally agree with this. It would also be nice if pitcher stamina was dynamic and you could stretch guys out gradually to become a starter.

For those that have played OOTP, their overall at every position is not only weighted by their baseball ability, but their position experience as well. So the players should lose the "secondary" positions and just have all the other positions listed with their experience at the position. If they have a low experience, there should be a penalty to their fielding attributes until they play it enough. Maybe if the player stays away from an older position for too long they start losing points in the position experience from lack of playing time

I would love something dynamic for the pitchers as well so that only pitchers with high stamina can start. A way to stretch them in to a starter would be amazing.

I read an article about Soler is the Cubs prospect that is most likely not to live up to expectations. They said b/c he's injury prone, volatile, and b/c he's unpolished on the field. They said he has the raw talent but is too unstable to reach stardom.
