I'm planning to have the <18 yr old players be additional players as long as someone can make faces for them. I'm not sure if Knight wants players that young in since they can't be <18 in the game. If anyone wants to make them go ahead. Or if you got any thoughts on their realistic ceilings. I can always compile all of extra Cub's prospects and stick them in a modified OSFM file once its out for Cub's fans. They'll be 18, but in cases like that you'll just have to go in each year in franchise and lower there age each year until its correct.

Tseng is on the list of guys I'm considering for the main roster. Depends on roster moves as the season comes closer. Having the game come out a bit later will make this easier on me since I'll know most of the official rosters when work starts on OSFM.

I'm counting on some releases happening to make room for some younger guys, they can't keep everyone as depth at AAA.

That sounds fine to me. Thanks for doing this by the way! I would say it would be difficult to give a realistic potential since they are still really young. I might go with a B/B+ for Eloy Jimenez. For Torres maybe a B-. Not really sure on the rest.

Cubs trade Outfielder Trevor Gretzky to the Angels for 1B/C Matt Scioscia. I'll try to look into Scioscia a bit more later on this evening.

To be honest, neither one of those guys would make the roster. Not sure what the point of that deal was. I don't see Scioscia adding any realistic catching depth. Maybe just need a body there.

More like just doing a favor to the Gretzky family by letting Trevor go back west, while also finding a way to help the Angels "cut" Scioscia without the awkwardness of doing it themselves.

This is an all-around insignificant move, shouldn't have any impact whatsoever on the Cubs OSFM.

Olt's arm needs to get 100% ASAP as I want him in that lineup everyday. He's looked too good this spring. Was hoping he'd get the start at 3B again today. The double he hit to right-center today looked like he's ready to face MLB pitching every day.

My only worry with Olt as it pertains to OSFM is that his ratings in game may be pretty low due to his poor performance in 2013. He's a solid B to me as of right now. Even if his average is mediocre his power should play very well at Wrigley I feel, he just needs to be able to throw.

I agree. He has looked really good so far. I am also hoping somehow that Kalish and Bonafacio make the 25 man roster. Should be an interesting week for us Cubbie fans.

From a The Show standpoint do you think Olt, Kalish and some of these guys will be in the base roster since they didn't play in the MLB last year? He may have to be made from scratch which might not be bad. Since like you said his ratings will probably be low if he is included.

Olt played last year so he should be in. Kalish may not, same with Vizcaino.

                    Javier Baez
                    Gleyber Torres

                    OF:
                    Ty Wright
                    Rubi Silva
                    Albert Almora
                    Matt Szczur
                    Jacob Hanneman
                    Jae-Hoon Ha
                    Shawon Dunston
                    Trey Martin
                    John Andreoli
                    Jorge Soler
                    Eloy Jimenez
                    Reggie Golden

These are just some ideas of the players that I personally want to see on the official OSFM rosters. Just because I did not have the player in my Top 20 does not mean they cannot have a B potential or higher, I think Eloy Jimenez and Gleyber Torres could be B potentials. Many have been on OSFM in the past, and like I said, I did not include any players SCEA had created officially during the season. Some of these players may not even be in the Cubs minor league system anymore, I find it very hard to keep up with the Minor league system. I hope this helps the roster creation process.

They will be in there. As long as they have any major league time, SCEA is allowed to include their creation. It is only a matter of having time on a major league roster during the regular season, if they haven't had an at bat or pitch in the majors, SCEA legally cannot include them like Masahiro Tanaka. So yes, Olt, Kalish and Vizcaino should all be on the default roster.

Surprising cut in Blake Parker. Even though he struggled this spring I'm surprised Rondon didn't go first, he's been awful. Glad they feel the need to keep Cabrera, but that is an odd choice to me. Rondon and Grimm both have options.

Grimm and Rusin have two options left. Grimm I doubt makes the team and Rusin only really stays around if her gets the 5th spot. I don't really see them using Rusin in the bullpen over another power RHP. Ramirez has looked good, but I also don't think he'll make the team. I guess either he or grimm has to if they want to have 8 bullpen arms.

I still want Rondon gone, I get he has shwon good stuff, but the results have been awful. Unless the team thinks he's majorly upped his command I just don't see much upside to him. He does have an option for 2014 left so I'm guessing they want to save it for when Fujikawa or Arrieta comes back perhaps. Why waste it now I guess.

Wada released and Ramirez to AAA.

Olt with 2 errors doesn't bode well, although he's barely seen any action until then.

I'd like to see Olt at 3B and Valbuena at 2B. Barney is a better defender but I like the left handed bat of Valbuena. Granted Valubena didn't have a big year at the plate, but I think he is better than Barney.
