Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
Hicks had 84 SO in 81 g and 313 PA. So he'd get a little under 160k for 600 PA. Not quite the '200' territory.

Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
Jib....the spreadsheets I'm working on right now are the teams not taken.
Here are the links for the prospect sheets.....
The top lines are the MLB equivalents .......you figure what you think the player will eventually hit...and follow it down to how many years you think it will take the player to hit that mark....
Each sheet is a different potential letter(for varying progressions within the grades)
A PP

B PP

C PP

A Pitcher

B Pitcher

C Pitcher

D's are no growth players...so you can rate them as you think they will play from any of the charts top lines.....

Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
What I'm doing is working on sheets for quicker data entry and if someone is willing to just input data on the teams that aren't taken right now.
I've been busy at work...so it's tough to get the time in right now....but here is Tampa Bay in progress
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...rive_web#gid=0
If anyone is looking to get a jump start and put all the players on a spreadsheet...here is the template...I don't know if I make it public...you can copy it and start your own......if someone knows Google docs....let me know...

Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
Do you guys have any suggestions as of now?
Also...Willard76 has a ZiPs projection spreadsheet as well.
Hopefully he posts it here and explains his use of it.

Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
I have a solid team behind me, hoping to have the Brewers ratings and research ready to go by the time I get the game, then it should take me a few days to input it all. Should definitely be done by that Friday night, and I'll PM you Knight and send it your way.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
I would also recommend that everyone wait before setting potentials in stone for a couple reasons:
1. The overall rating system (and therefore the potential system) has been changed, there will be less highly rated players
2. Now with numbered potentials we don't have to guess anymore, it should be the same as his overall rating with fully projected ratings.
Also, for those that use auto training - each position has a ratings threshold where progression will level off. Its very similar to the skills depth chart found in the BA handbook (and other places as well), which looks like this:
C - fielding/hitting/arm strength/power/speed
1B - power/hitting/fielding/arm strength/speed
2B - hitting/fielding/power/speed/arm strength
3B - power/hitting/fielding/arm strength/speed
SS - fielding/arm strength/hitting/speed/power
LF - power/hitting/fielding/arm strength/speed
CF - fielding/hitting/speed/power/arm strength
RF - power/hitting/arm strength/fielding/speed
So the CPU will prioritize the ratings based on position.
The only difference that I'm aware of for The Show is that power is more of a priority than fielding for second basemen (aka 70's contact, 60's power, 50's fielding rates better than 70's/50's/60's)
I've done most of the Mariners hitting prospects for this year already, if anyone wants to see any examples I'll be posting my spreadsheet in the Mariners thread. Oh ****. I completely forgot about the potential rating change. Is it just going to be 0-99 like other ratings?St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Yeah, its basically the same system but with a number grade in the edit screen. Main difference is the supposedly stingier overall ratings, there won't be as many 90+ rated players.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

So like guys like Buxton and Taveras should have potential's in the 90's? Just like school letter grade/percentages?St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: MLB The Show'14(PS3 and PS4)-Operation Sports Full Minors-RECRUITING
Well I don't know how others would feel about it, but with training being more user controlled I feel like there really isn't a need for the years away portion. What I did last year (and am doing this year) was/is a twist of current ability and projection systems, and it worked out pretty well. Not only did the majority of my players mirror their 2013 season, but I loved the feeling that it was up to me to decide whether to shore up their weaknesses or continue improving their strengths.

The reason that is in ....is a lot of projection material gives the info as "expected to hit .XXX and XX HR's.....etc.
I think guys just felt comfortable picking out what he thought a player would be in the future and working it back.
If you feel confident in giving a player his current "would be in the MLB right now" ratings....it's basically the same thing....so you could do it either way.
Plus.....keep in mind(I know most of you guys realize this already)....is that by giving a player a certain potential...you are basically giving him his ceiling through that. It will kind of "auto adjust" based on that anyway.
As long as you are getting even somewhat close to the players target MLB #'s and potential....you're good to go with how you rate it out.

Just for argument....88-92 might be A-.....93-95...A...and 96-99 A+....
It's 0-99 in the editor...and A/B/C/D/F in game.

It should be whatever the ratings spit out, but I would imagine they would be pretty high up there. Buxton is supposedly all 7's and 8's right?Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment
