Originally posted by baa7I'm not advocating anything at this point. I'm testing speeds, and from what I'm seeing, somewhere around 85% should be the top end for the most speed guys. Reyes, Figgins, Logan and some others I might go higher with.
I've gone though every player in the game (I tested to find out who has an "announced" name) and I've seen a handful with their speed at or near 100%. I'm maybe more concerned there are too many players with their speed too high. If anything, I'd lower several key players on each team. The Yankees are a great place to start. Pretty well every starter on that team should have their speed ratings lowered by 10 or even 20% IMO.
So far I am satisfied with the timing of infielders in catching, throwing to first and getting the runner by a couple of steps. The idea i had earlier to increase the 1B & SS' arm strength a couple of clicks has resulted in a successful 363 DP. The timing of it all looks pretty good.
My theory on hit variety is that Pitch speed is key. I used to play with it maxed which resulted in less variety of hits. When I began to lower it tings opened up a bit w/hit variety. I did not have to tinker with contact/power sliders that I had all ready been using. Now I am getting a wide variety of hits and a reasonable amount of HR's per game also. In addition my K's/walks are right on par w/that of real life MLB box scores. Do me a favor, let me know which key players that u lower running spd sliders for. I masy follow suit. So far I left Ichiro and Crawford's alone.Comment
