I'd say lower Solid Hits. It will take the ones you shouldn't have hit well and... well... do exactly that. With Solid Hits jacked, your hitting a few balls better than you should be and they're dropping in for hits. Lower it a notch or two, and you'll see a better hit spread between singles and other extra base hits. Your hit total will drop a few, though.

Just leave those at default and just keep improving your timing and hitting.

I play on All-star with default human sliders for hitting, and as a team average 1 homerun per game, and a couple doubles.

Re: 2006-2008 Team Averages (for slider purposes)

This is a great idea. Last year with MLB2K8 I did basically the same thing, but even took it a step further. I was intending to do it again this year, but let's just say that's not possible with the state of 2K9. Lucky for me, I'll have MLB09 soon and will try it with the new game.

Click the link above and it'll take you to my (way-too-much, overly-detailed) post about what I did to calculate averages for an MLB season. For those that want the short version: I downloaded all of 2007's Pitch FX data and figured out the percentages of batter swings, strikes, balls, foul balls, strikes looking and hits in play. I used this data and the 2007 MLB game averages to attempt to get the AI to bat and pitch as realistically as possible.

Anyone else is welcome to use this data if they want as well. When I get my hands on a PS3 and The Show, I'm sure I'll go to work recording data and pitches in the game to see if this year I can again create some sliders that give an ultra-realistic game of baseball. It's certainly fun trying!

I might be really late, but thanks for the info! If I can get manager mode to get some where in range; I'll be set for till next year.

Re: 2006-2008 Team Averages (for slider purposes)

I went ahead and put together a list of team averages and per game stats from the 2010 season only. There were some stats that I was curious about that weren't included in theaub's post on the first page, so I just went ahead and compiled all of the stats that I care about for slider purposes.

Some of them are redundant, or very similar to the numbers is the first post.. But since I was already putting the numbers together, I figured I'd just post 'em all. Hopefully they can further help with sliders.

                    Thanks!

I didn't realize that first pitch strikes were so low? Wow. That's great.

....My team average is .257 and change! Huh. Dead on. Who'd guessed?

Just a quick update for the 2011 stats.

Everything is pretty close to last year's numbers, but it is interesting to note that offense is continuing to trend downward.

A moderator should edit the thread's title and remove the years, since you know... Maybe replace the year range with "Yearly" or "Single Season?"

Anyway this thread is awesome. Saves me a lot of time in my slider endeavors.
