    Fielding Sliders

Ok i dont wanna jump the gun here but i think ive found the absolute key to fielding. My changes are as follows

    Speed -40
    Reaction : Zeroed out
Arm Streangth: Arm value X 4

The key to all of it though seems to be in the fielding attribute.

I zeroed them out for everyone ( im sure this is not right but i wanted to get an idea of its affects)

Oh wow i thought there would be errors everywhere but there wasnt and they move like actual mlb players

I hit a ball in the gap and i watched the Left fielder chase it and i teared up! (j/k)

I only tested this for 2 games so i hope im not jumping the gun i just got so excited with the results i had to post it.

Can you guys please help me nail these adjustments just right so we can all have a great game this year

    Thanks so much

Can you clarify what arm value x 4 means?

Disregard the arm streangth for now as even though i cant believe my eyes there arms are actually to weak now, i just wanted to post this to get the movement of the fielders correct and the results i am seeing ( only 3 games now) has been amazing

I'll start making these edits to my MOM franchise tonight when I get home.

        Looking forward to it.

          Re: BREAKING NEWS!!!

This is basically the exact same thing I did with my rosters. Speed and reaction time are both at zero on mine. But it just takes too dang long to do that to every player in the game. I just make the changes as I face a new opponent in the series. Only issue with that is I have outfielders that are way too fast in my RTTS.

I've also noticed an effect on baserunning speed due to the speed attribute drop. How do you suggest this be fixed? Maybe maxing out the baserunner speed slider?

              Re: BREAKING NEWS!!!

Ok so from what i can tell now the fielding attribute must be some sort of grand modifier for all defesive attributes, so if you set a guys speed to 0 but he has a high fielding attribute he will still be fast.

Thats why i think i have heard alot of comments like "I set the outfielders speed to 0 and they are still to fast like comments"

It appears without modifying the fielding attribute the other changes really dont have that much affect.

Also setting fielding attribute low seems to have very little effect on errors since the cpu has 2 errors through 4 games now.

I have to adjust everyones arms back up now as they are to weak in some cases.

I will also have to adjust speed back up as some people beileive it or not are to slow

If anyone can help me find the right mix i would appreciate it as this is turning into alot of work

so your setting all outfielders at 0 for reaction time and reducing there speed by 40 clicks?

trau....I'm glad you found it....but that's pretty much what I did to the fielding reaction attributes in my Full Minors set last year...(I didn't zero them...but the BEST OF'er was way less than half a bar....regular players around a quarter and the real oafs near zero)...and will be doing this year.
I tried(and capa tried to tell you guys ) that the key to extra base hits is the fielding reaction attribute.

Like I said....in the Minors thread....
First set will be Full Minors with no attributes changed for the SCEA MLB players.
Second will be the Full Minors WITH my attribute changes(like last years set, but more finely tuned (I've learned like you guys have!)
Third set will be the same as above with the O.S. players mixed in

                    Re: BREAKING NEWS!!!

So the key edit is not necessarily speed or reaction time, but fielding?

Wait, so there won't be global edits in the first set to reduce team batting averages, and to eliminate 110 SB seasons in dynasty? Guess I'll have to do that myself then.

I've noticed the opposite. Fielder ability has done nothing for me, but dropping speed and reaction time to zero has saved the world.

but if you simply lower to 0 won't they all just be the same speed, by the way is it just the outfielders that need to be done, no reason to edit infielders i guess.

the baserunner speed slider doesn't work. If the slider isn't on the main page where you go under options and then to "my sliders" then the slider has no effect in the game. Its useless.

Now the question that I will impose is this. If you do not do this for infielders as well, then what are you going to do about guys that play both the infield and the outfield?
