I don't find that to be accurate from what I have tested. I think reaction and speed are the main issues here. Ability is tied into errors like you have said and diving catches, backhands, diving stops, etc.

EXACTLY what I have found. Under rosters and editing player attributes (not sliders).

This also opens a whole new can of worms because the "speed" attribute has slowed these players down on the bases. So what do you do to equal that out? Baserunning slider? Lower everyone's speed (including infielders/pitchers/catchers)? Alter fielder throwing speed? A lot of possibilities.

EDIT: And I see that some of you have addressed this so I'll go back to the drawing board and try to work off some of the suggestions and see if we can't find a happy solution.

Wouldnt lowering everybodys speed be a good option? It also with a little balancing should mabye fix the stolen base issue.

I think it would be a good option. One of the previous posts suggested lowering each player's speed by 40 clicks on their attributes. You also need to make adjustments to throwing speed, etc. Look for the golden gopher

-30 on speed attribute for all position players

40-50% reduction in throwing strength and accuracy for all position players

Reduce reaction to ZERO for all position players.


I am having a lot of fun.. lots more action in the field. Diving for balls in the outfield and infield..stand up doubles... ground balls down the lines making it thru, etc..

ill give that a try...but can u tell me what do u have for your hitquality/power slider?
i need to know that, cause if i have mine higher it could make up for too much offense since the fielders are slower now.

One thing I did different though was raise the reaction attribute for the 2B and SS to cut down on cheap singles.

I did that too- i raised the 2B and SS +10 to 15 in reaction. You really have to hit it solidly up the middle now.

Would you, or anyone else who has made these edits, be gracious enough to share them with the rest of us lazy folk?

I don't mind doing it myself, but if you've already made the changes then we might as well use and work off what you have, maybe then we can collaborate a little on these and do some testing.
