Anyone else using "old mans sliders"?

i was playing on HOF and using nems sliders but finally just got really frustrated with the game and decided to go back down to what a lot of folks are calling "the real deal" level of the game. well i needed a set of sliders to use. so i went online onto sportscast or whatever it is called and saw this one set called "old man sliders" designed for those with not so good hand eye.

dl'd them and have been playing four games with them and have been getting fantaisitc games with them. here are my few but great line scores from these sliders.

    Code:
    May 4th

    TEX 9 - 13 - 0
    OAK 11 - 15 - 2

    May 5th

    BAL 2 - 7 - 0
    OAK 6 - 9 - 0

    may 6th

    BAL 3 - 6 - 1
    OAK 5 - 8 - 0

    May 7th

    BAL 6 - 11 - 0
    OAK 7 - 18 - 0 F/11
I mean by no disrespect to Nem who i hold in great regaurd here on OS, but i wasnt coming close to these types of line scores in my first month using his sliders. im just glad i finally found a slider set i can live with that makes the game fun again that i actually look forward too. im not bashing Nems sliders but i do think they (scea) did a great job in upping the actual diff level on HOF. ... so i have to resign myself to all-star and enjoy the game.

i was terrified that i was going to just be rolling oever everyone as i did with 07 on all star but im having close fun, angering, stressful, joyful games.

if the designer of the OLD MANS sliders is an OS'er i just want to personally thank you for your slider set (V1) it has changed my life with this game.

I d/l them and have been using them also. I go back and forth btn them and the perfect sliders set.

Do you notice anything with the Old Man set using Knights rosters with all the edits?

So basically you were looking for sliders where you would win most of your game? LOL

It's not winning most of the games that's the issue, it's having a competitive chance to even be close in the games. I don't mind losing, but I want to have a shot. I want the opportunity to make it a game.

When you're older you hand eye coord starts to degrade and it can become frustrating to play this game. Example, you're getting setup for a pitch, and your mind says it's fastball, low but transferring that to the fingers in time to get a decent chance at contact with the ball is another matter.

So what do these sliders have that make them 'oldman' sliders. I'll have to look for them next time I'm on line.

I dont know but i tried his V2 today and mmm like V1 better i think felt like a little more of a challenge with the first set so i think ill give V2 a week or at least a series against the indians and see how it goes. if i simply feel that his V2 version is letting me just rape at will ill go back to v1 which seemed to be a very competitive set IMO.

Re: Anyone else using "old mans sliders"?

Ive started using his V2 set and im getting even better games. i just played my first game of inter-league against the braves and got my *** handed too me 12-2!!! i actually lilke all star better than i do or did hof this year. the line scores are more normal no more ecessive hits per team every game with few runs. getting a lot of varied hit totals, some games lots of extra bases and some days none just like in real life.

but that is me and i do use guess pitch and am not a grand master of video games by any stretch of the imagination... so there you have it lol

is there any way to fix these glitches im noticing ? i have latest patch

                    **********SEASON MODE***********

                    1. cpu ai fielding glitch where first baseman fields a ground ball and just stands there and waits for the pitcher to cover, first baseman is close enough to tag bag but always waits for pitcher resulting in a single every time. happens a lot. Playing in season mode. (frequently happens)

                    2. user fielding glitch where if you dive for a ball but you miss it and it deflects off your glove your fielder wont pick it up but just stand on the ball and you have to wait for another fielder to come pick it up. Season mode (always happens if you miss)

                    3. user fielding glitch where you run right past a ball hit to you. season mode ( occasionaly happens

his set one is different as this set if i remember right from reading is addressing cpu power and other issues... if you wish me to leave set 1 just let me know... hey im getting my tail kicked on all star with these and i aslo use guess pitch and im not hitting home runs every time out with it either. if you wish to see what my box scores have been with these just go to my page in my sig (mlb 08) look at my sidebar on the right side and look at the bottom part with the schedule with the scores in them the scores are all linked to a box score from that game..

if i reemmber right ive been using this paticular set for about a week or so basically anything from the first sunday in the month... again im not the creator of these i got these off the game online in the "my sliders" section. have no idea hot to get a hold of the author of these... good luck to those who choose to use them they can be used on hall of fame as well

Thanks again - I'll give those a try. Surprised that pitch speed is at 5, though, as that's where my old man reflexes really come into play - seems I can never pull a fastball even with speed set to 0.

Only way I can pull a fastball is if I cheat on it.... Course that makes me look pretty bad when it's actually a changeup!
