Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
This seems to hold true. I was averaging 10-12 hits a game on all star with the perfect slider set. i maxed the timing window out for a game and I was the Twins against the Royals. Greinke held me to two hits and I was shut out 2-0. Span had my only two hits. Has anyone tested this over the course of multiple games.Comment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
i suck at the game anyway, but i will say with the timing window maxed my hit count is astonishingly low.
i was cubs against giants and i only managed 3 hits.Comment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
Just when I thought everything has been figured out, along comes this discovery. Funny thing is, and I admit that I am not a good hitter, that I have continued to creep the tw up, and still have never been able to get my hit totals up too much. So here I was thinking that I sucked, but actually it may have been the slider, I still bet that I suck. Wonderful find, and thanks for having the courage to throw this out.Comment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
i know. it does make you worry a bit doesn't it.
because whether the devs reversed it, or the effects are messed up the timing window CERTAINLY doesn't do what it says on the tin.
im definetly glad though cause i was really sucking at this game having the timing window on full. now i know i should get a little better without it maxed

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
I don't think this slider is backwards. The recent games I've played with timing-window at 0 (-10), I struck out 6-10 times per game.
Then I tested it with the slider at 18 (+8) and struck out 0 times.
If you ask me, the slider only de/increases strikeouts. I could foul anything off, no matter where the pitch was.Comment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
I've played the last 8 games of my braves franchise with the timing window at 20 and there has been a big difference. I've still had games with a decent amount of hitting, but now I'm seeing more games in the 5 - 8 range. I played about 70 games before I changed the timing window and I don't think I had more than 2 or 3 games where I had less than 10 hits. I've already matched that total in my last 8 games, so I'm really looking forward to some more realistic stats for the second half of my season.
Btw, my strike out totals are about the same. Also, I'm using p'bulk's perfect 1.5 slider set. Now, more than everComment

Hate to play Devils Advocate, but I will.
Dont any of you perhaps think your astonishing results are just because you have to learn the new timing window? Your lack of hits is most likely because you are off step in your timing now.Comment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
I don't think so.. If the timing window worked like we thought it did, then having it a 20 would give us the biggest window of time possible to make good contact. Though since it is most likely reversed, having the timing window at 20 is giving the batter the smallest, or shortest window of time to make good contact. Thus, resulting in the fewer hits.
I wouldn't think that it would work in the way you've described it. It doesn't change the way you time your swing as much as it gives the batter a smaller window of time to make solid contact. In other words, with the timing window at 0 (-10) we were giving ourselves the longest and most forgiving window of time to hit the ball. So if you were a little early or late you would still have a decent chance of making good contact. With the timing window at 20 you have less of a chance to make good contact if you don't time your swing just right. Now, more than everComment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
all I can tell from the window is that is changes strikeouts. I can bust out 10-15 hits with the window maxed. And with it lowered, I still hit about 9-11 hits, but I had a few more strikeouts.
I think it basically changed what would have been my weak groundouts with blah blah contact, into clean whiffs and a K.You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Just because other people say it's cheap doesn't mean you have to let it affect your association, just have fun - Evan_OSComment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
Now, do you think the window will need to be synced better with hq? Possibly raise the hq a little as the window goes up.Comment

Re: Timing Window is backwards !!!
This is pretty much what I've found in the three games I tried timing window at 20. Less K's, more fouls, same amount of hits. I had 7, 11 and 15 hits in the three games. The game I switched back to zero I had 6 hits over 13 innings, including being no-hit through five.all I can tell from the window is that is changes strikeouts. I can bust out 10-15 hits with the window maxed. And with it lowered, I still hit about 9-11 hits, but I had a few more strikeouts.
