Yeah, I realize it's ST, but every new pitcher coming out for the CPU team throws like a combination of Nolan Ryan and Josh Beckett......

pay attention to ur pitchers confidence meter too. it plays a big part in the game, prolly too much really. If u can retire like 7-8 batters straight it goes full, then its tough for ai to hit on u. pitcher start hittin corners etc.. really have to manage ur pitching in-game alot. Just tweak them in ur favor until u get better. took me a while, heck when i first started i had pci on, and guess pitch on until i got better. so do that if u have to, this gm takes a ton of practice!

Then use your own. If you don't like this slider set move on. Why even make a comment about it? Some people are are using these and having some excellent games with them. I've used it as a base, made some adjustments for my style and that's that. Not everyone plays this game the same way and with the same sliders.

I don't understand all these "you are playing the game wrong" posts the last few days. You spent the $60 for it- play it anyway you want.

wow... got shutout 7-0 by white sox

i only managed 3 hits all game! Gavin Floyd was unhittable. only problem i had as far as sliders go is they didnt let him pitch the CG shutout. he only was up to close to 90 pitches but was done after 8ip?? i can understand if game was 1-0, or even 3-0, but 7-0??!?! Cmon, Id be mad if i was him lol. gonna tune down manager hook cuz that just wasnt right. i just wonder what they would do if he had a no-hitter goin. matter of fact, gonna play with that. do exibition gm and force myself not to gwet a hit and see what cpuu does. will post results!

Ok guys, manager hook back to default asap! tried exibition gm and thru 5.2ip no hitter going, cpu pulled starting pitcher! yes, he was up to 95 pitches, but with 14 k's and a no hitter going, u just dont ruin that in real life.m so definately has to go back to default at the least. gonna try it again with this setting to see if cpu will allow him to get no hitter. hope it not broke where it just goes off of pitch count and disregards situations unless the situation is bad.

It appears that one click this year is equivalent to two clicks last year. So in reality a +2 this year has the weight of a +4. Back it down to +1 and see how it performs before going to default.

I wouldn't jump the gun yet. It's a CPU making the decision...

#1 That's a few pitches... not a ton, but a few through 5 2/3. Realistically he's probably good for one more inning. Granted a real manager would keep him in until the wheels fell off, but from a CPU position he's really only got an inning left, which leads to:

#2 If the game was close or tied and the pitcher was due up in the next inning that might be a reason for the CPU to pull him.

Now I use your sliders with Manager Hook at +1, just to ensure the relievers don't get left in too long.

ya, i think +1 is where i'll leave it and screw it lol. it was an nl game now i think of it, didnt think about that, i should go back and play al teams next if +1 doesnt do it. i just want to see now if it can even be done without cpu pullin him out

Honestly, I don't think there's anything that can be done with that. The CPU will base when to leave in a pitcher and when to pull him completely on mathematical formulas and some situational stuff (i.e., pitch count, inning, batting order, etc.). It would be nice if there was some code that would tell the CPU to leave a pitcher in if there's a possible no-no though.

been trying to bunt to keep his pitch count down. 93 pitches now, rex just said 5 outs away, sooo im thinking they will leave him in. we will find out cuz hes due up next to bat lol... cross ur fingers and toes!... 4 outs away! gonna make this into a dramatized post now lol... and yes! hes stayikng in tol bat so he will get it, will be fun to watch what happens. its Chris Carpenter getting it... should've picked Zam.brano! his celebration might be different from any others in the game. save that experiment for later tho...

hahaha, announcer(color commentator) said with a no hitter going he should just take 3 pitches and head back out for his final 3 outs.

6-0 now as they scored again on me. here we go now! 3 more outs.... following are quotes from commentator
"now just 2 outs away from the no-no!"

"so now just one man stands between him and his no hitter!"

"strike 3 called! And its over! A no hitter!"

booo.. no real celebration at all. maybe if they were at home? but nothing, didnt even show carpenter. maybe if it was another pitch ie zambrano?

Soo overall it just tells me that +1 for manager hook.

I had around the same sliders before I saw yours so I guess we are around the same skill level, but these seem a little easier so I tried these out with All Star the last 3 games and have had great results. I am 2-1 with scores of 7-4, a loss of 14-4(let up 2 three run HRs) and I just won 6-4.

i dunno what allstar would do. good final scores tho. here lately ive really struggled to score tho. playing season mode with "high octane" offense cleveland.

Thanks again for posting these sliders. I'm curious if anyone can tell me what the biggest difference between veteran and all-star is?

Is there anything you notice immediately or does the computer just slightly improve in all areas?
