Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
First off - just wanted to say great job on the sliders Psycho, they are playing excellently for me right now with one caveat.
I am using 1.3, but I'm still having the problem with the runners stealing home arbitrarily. No hit and run or anything. Just a straight "Sandlot" steal to home base. They are out every single time and yet they continue to do it. I've played probably around 30 games with 1.3, and I would say I've seen the problem in all but 1 that I can remember.
Does anyone know of the problem that I speak of and can offer some guidance as far as what I need to do differently to stop this from happening? I don't know if there is a workaround, or if I doing something wrong, but it just kind of takes away from the gameplay for me. Thanks to anyone with any suggestion!!!
Again, great job Psycho - I know that you always put a lot of work into your sliders!!!Last edited by tbarney; 04-15-2009, 09:41 PM.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
I am also having another problem that I was hoping someone could give me some guidance with, if it possible.
When I pitch in the game, I find that I throw an overabundance of strikes even when I aim the ball way out of the strike zone. For instance, I aim a slider to go low and away, and it goes low and away, but it stays in the zone and the batter gets a base hit.
To sum up my problem, I was just wondering if there was a way to see more balls being thrown when I try to throw them. Is it as simple as toning down my Pitcher Accuracy, or is there something else that I am overlooking. Thanks for the help!!!Comment

Are you guys using classic pitching or meter pitching? I have that problem some but not nearly enough to worry about it. Sometimes pitchers are going to miss their spots, it's just part of baseball.Comment

Oh absolutely, they are bang up to date only missing minors on a few NL teams and i care little for that anyway, he has also fixed the ratings so the lineup CPU issues dont happen. They are superb.
tree and tbarney, raise your control & consistency 1 up from where i have it if you need more control....but yeah, the Pirates dont help
tbarney, the issue with stealing home, sounds bizarre, ive never yet seen it once in all my games, ever, are you hitting a button by accident? I honestly dont know what to say to that one but i literally have never seen it so can guarantee its a game and not slider issue.Comment

Psycho,
I only have one issue....passed balls/dropped 3rd strikes. Last night's game there were 3 dropped 3rd strikes, one wild pitch and 3 hit batsman...all by the cpu. I have no problem with the wild pitch or hit batsman...but what about the dropped 3rd strikes. Do you have this problem? Any tweak to fix/reduce it?
Thanks

This year is so different in the sense that the CPU will crush pitches left in the zone. It really makes you pitch to spots and moving your pitches around the plate to try and set up the hitters.
Makes the game so much better and very rewarding to know you got a hitter out on a pitch you actually wanted to throw and where you wanted to throw it.Comment
