Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
those sliders look kind of nice. not to many drastic changes anywhere. I see alot of people putting RP Stamina at 0 and i was curious what your thinking is behind that
And this is interesting as well...can u ppost your thoughts on this too?
Fielder Run Speed 1
Fielder Reaction 10
thanks

On default (although it plays a good game) there are far too many balls hit through the infield that should be stopped but arent as the fielder reacts too late, look on a replay, the ball travels a long way before they even move, with my settings if you look on replay they react a lot quicker hence cutting out hits that should not have been. Speed well i think thats pretty obvious, on default all outfielders especially whizz around like Carl Lewis, on 1 the fast men are still fast enough to pull off great plays but the guys with average speed are just that, average, as they should be. Power wise as ckarlic says, the CPU did need reining in a little but dont worry, they still hit very well, very well indeed if you pitch poorly.
p.s. lanterix, meter.
p.p.s. ChiCubs - nice to see you on here again mateComment

Looking good, I'll check them out.
Just a suggestion, you should update your very first post with the Sliders, so people can click in to view them without scrolling around looking for them. Some might not even know you have them posted.
The only thing I need clarification is the Fielder Reaction. When you say too many balls get hit through, are you referring to by the User or CPU?
I find that the CPU gobbles up everything already which is why I always had the Reaction to a lower number less than default.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Both really. Even though the reaction is up the speed is down so that compensates, hits that should still be hits are, if you get me.Comment

PsychoBulk,
Are you seeing any walks in the games that you've been playing using these sliders?
I like to draw 2-3 walks (at least) per game.
Thanks.

I usually draw 2-3 walks per game, and I'm kind of impatient myself. You can always tick down the Strike Frequency and Consistency a bit more if you feel you arn't drawing enough balls/walks.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Certainly am, i was getting maybe 2/3 a game at most on default, often 2 or less, with the CPU Pitcher Consistency slider down a notch ive noticed the CPU throw a fair amount more balls, especially on first pitches, so more chances to get ahead in the count and work a walk. Of course you still have to show the requisite patience to not swing at crap, but yes, the walks are there.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
if u guys want to see more walks id suggest lowering the Pitch consistency slider , that way pitchers will miss by more and ull be able to judge better if its a ball to lay off...
i use , on legend, pitch consistency at 0 and pitch control at 6 so that way, i get the fair amount of walks(dependable exclusivly on the pitchers control atributes) and also, i set pitch control up a notch so that they dont throw too many meat balls...also, with control up it seems that like last year theyll go more for the corners, nibbling more and issueing evan more walks.
Im a walking machine really, i play A's style of baseball. so would not be happy if i wasnt avr. at least 4 walks a game..and right now i am over that..ive had 8 walk games a few times already
Said all that i still think the plate aproach is the biggest thing when drawing walks...in my case i aways go to the plate thinking BB when i have no runners on base.
just my 2 cents---------------

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Hey Psycho I'm considering trying these just to compare them to what we have going over on ToBrien's thread. My question though does turning pitching confidence on make a difference?
And I've lowered my injury frequency down to 1 because there are just to many injuries when you simulate your minor league games. I'm thinking about putting it at two but I just think putting it at 5 is asking for trouble. What's your thoughts on this?Comment
