By the way Psycho, the sliders are very good. For those of you challenged gamers, these work on veteran as well.

re: CPU homers
I posted a few pages back about how I was seeing an increased number of HRs from the CPU with these sliders. That continued to be the case over a number of games, but I'm more than happy to admit that this is due to my incompetent pitching rather than an overpowered CPU AI.
So, in order to maintain the overall challenge of the difficulty level and 1.3 sliders, I've just taken the edge off the CPU's hitting ability by tweaking down the "Contact" and "Power" a notch. For my pitching ability this is giving closer games and I'm not getting demoralised by the CPU hitting two or three HRs in the first couple of innings.
I'll probably do some pitching practice and increase the CPU hitting ability as I improve.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
I'm using your sliders, PB. I've played four games so far: two good, two bad. The first game was a pitchers duel I wound up losing 2-3 on a walk-off in the 11th. The second game was my most exciting yet: going into the top of the 7th inning I was down 0-4 to the Nationals, but I wound up winning 10-8! Incredible stuff.
The last two games, however, have massively frustrated me. Near identical matches: the Nationals put through 4/5 runs in the first inning, with one game finishing 0-6 and the other 0-7. They seem to blast in runs in the 1st, then calm down for the entire rest of the game. I can't help but think that if the first inning's runs were to be scratched, they would have both been really close pitching duels - not blowouts.
Also on both of these games I wasn't able to hit a thing. I totalled 6 hits over the two matches. Just me swinging at stupid stuff, though. It's really hard, when losing by so much so early on, to be patient at the plate; I just wanna swing at everything! I guess sliders can't fix user incompetence, can they? Ha.
I definitely have good days and bad days in The Show. Some games I can get 15+ hits, some I get 4. Hang with 'em.Last edited by pete.dakota; 04-01-2009, 08:26 PM.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
I really enjoy your sliders, I changed the pitch speed down to 2 to get used to it and I won 10-2, lost 10-5 and won 7-1, do you think I should up the pitch speed to 5 or keep it at 2 to see more variety of games??Comment

Yeah, I was able to get Ryan Howard 3 times in my last game with basically garbage out of the zone. He chases quite a bit. I did get lucky once though. I had to pause the game for a few minutes and when I came back I forgot what was going on. I picked up the controller and threw a 1-2 fastball right down the middle that he stood and watched.Comment

As the game goes on you must pitch with less velocity to have better accuracyComment

One was in the second inning and the other was off a reliever who had faced one batter prior to that. And he was well rested.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Ok Bulk ,
I swallowed my Patrick Roy Pride and will play 20 games on Allstar , the ONLY changes I made were hot zones On and pitch speed lower to help draw walks for a start .
I will pitch extra smart this time change speed ,locations and even brush back a few bloaks when I know the cpu is ready to make a run.
Well old mate I hope to share some great stats soon , did you have any good games of late you can share ?
To anyone Im I cheating if I used powerswing once and a while as I seem to get a HR near everytime I use it or im I just lucky 4/6 but they were fat .
Thanks to all for sharing in this great slider threadComment
