Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show

Just got done with my 5th game in a fantasy draft, 14-game season (to hold me over until Knight's rosters are finalized). The results are ridiculously accurate, Psycho!

    My squad (St. Louis Cardinals):

Lineup - S.Drew, Kemp, Holliday, Votto, McCann, Sheffield, Gordon, Burriss
    Rotation - Halladay, Carpenter, R.Johnson, Maholm, J.Sanchez

    Game results:

    CIN 2 8 0
    STL 4 8 0

    STL 3 10 0
    HOU 4 10 0

    MIL 2 8 0
    STL 4 6 0

    STL 2 9 0
    PIT 7 13 0

    ARI 4 9 0
    STL 5 11 0

The stats I've been getting have been amazing. The lack of any errors is surprising but knowing how this game goes, I'll have a game soon where both teams will commit 4 or so combined.

Here's a breakdown of last years stats compared to the numbers I've been getting.

    Stat - Real 2008 - Show 09
    PA - 77.22 - 70.80
    R - 9.40 - 7.40
    H - 18.24 - 18.40
    2B - 3.72 - 3.80
    3B - 0.38 - 0.40
    HR - 2.06 - 2.00
    SO - 13.25 - 13.00
    BB - 6.60 - 3.40
    E - 1.23 - 0.00

As you can see, all the numbers are insanely accurate after 5 games except for plate appearances, runs, walks and errors. What this shows us is that once the errors even out and my plate discipline gets better (which it usually does after a month or so with the game), the amount of plate appearances and runs generated will increase. These numbers will be just about perfect.

Awesome stuff, PsychoBulk. I'll be back after another 5 games with another report.

Yes it would, disregard my post as I was looking at the CPU's settings that Psycho has and not the human. I was tired and clearly wasnt processing things right so ignore that post, lol.

These sliders work great on HOF! After about 25 games, I will use these without any changes for the whole season. I will need to score some more runs to win at this level, but thats what BP is for. The only thing i did adjust was the error sliders to 7. I just didnt see hardly any errors through a 14 game mini season. I had just 2. I am at game 11 of my second 14 game season and i have 5 with the slider at 7.

Great feedback ZigZag & Bimmer, thanks, ZigZag, great looking stats there and as you say, as your patience goes up so will walks/PA and runs generated.

All looking good at the momento, thanks chaps.

My last four games with these phenomenal sliders: I'm Texas.

            KC 4 12 1
            TEX 6 12 1

Andruw 2 run bomb in 9th off Soria to tie. After Young doubled in the 10th, Hambone crushed a two run blast to win it.

            KC 5 11 4
            TEX 10 19 1

I hit five doubles and chased Gil Meche in the 3rd inning with 9 runs. I drew 5 walks and as you can see, KC was a mess in the field.

            TEX 3 9 0
            TOR 5 9 0

Scott Richmond carved me up lol. Cruz finally hit his 1st homer.

            TEX 4 10 2
            TOR 7 11 1

Halladay shut me down. Kinsler's two run HR in 9th made it closer than it what it really was. Padilla gave up four freaking HR's. Hamilton hit #4.

In all, I'm 8-6 using these sliders and am 1.5 games behind the Angels.

            I can't recommend them enough!

Great stuff spyder thanks, and the best thing is i know you arent recommending them simply because you have a winning record

Also nice to see errors are still there, after ZigZag had seen none, as we keep saying, its all in the variation.

So good you said it twice

1.3, the latest version, are not.

Just input them yourself it takes 2 minutes.

Lol. I'm on my blackberry. It would be super awesome if someone was kind enough to upload them to sportsconnect. Those two minutes could change someone's life forever and could make all the difference in the world.

I'm getting great games with the sliders. 10 games into my franchise and 0v10 but enjoying it. The only thing I see is that it could be too easy to get hits. I'm getting between 8 and 15 hits a game every game.

I know it sounds stupid as i've lost all 10 games but shouldn't I be getting games where i get really low hit numbers and not always about 10 ?

ps the reason I haven't won any games is because I can't run the bases.

10 games is a really small sample

10 games of hitting 10 hits per game is nothing even close to out of the ordinary.
