    Hey guys,

These sliders are playing great for me, but are you guys using classic or meter pitching with the sliders? And what are they intended to be used with. Thanks and great job!!

So far so good, going on my second series with the Royals, I will post the results of it when finished w/ the series.

On a side note, for some reason there is no shadow under the ball when there is a pop fly etc.. Is there a setting that changes this? All my indicators are on, and never had a problem with this in previous years.

        Thanks

I was one of those guys who would try these sliders out for a game or two and think they were too hard so I would try something else, I am here to tell you DON'T DO THAT!!!! Let me explain myself. I started a franchise with the Reds and have started the season 0-2 and hitting a dismal .204, in the past I would think the sliders were too hard but I have wised up with old age and realize that I faced Santana and Maine in back to back games with Putz and Rodriguez coming out of the bullpen. I lost 4-3 and 2-1, so I am excited that I contained the Mets offense. I think people have to consider who they are playing before making a decision about these sliders, I mean the Met's staff will probably have an OBA of around .220 or .230 while a staff like the Rangers will be closer to .280. Average those out over the course of the season and you get incredible results, so far I am extatic about these sliders and am ashamed I brushed them off earlier as being too hard.

Earlier I commented that in RTTS mode as a pitcher that I would get frustrated by the amount of triples I saw if somebody got a hit deep in the gap.

I tried bumping the fielder speed to 2, but I agree is seemed a bit too fast. The fielders seemed to be able to get to almost any hit on 2.

So I put fielder speed back on 1, and tried bumping arm strength to 4. This seemed to solve the triples problem, now the hits to the gap result in mostly doubles, with the very rare triple.

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show

Psycho...just wanted to say thanks for a great set of sliders. I just finished a quick 14 game season (just to work on sliders). I am not sure what stats you want...but here is a quick sample.

I was the Yanks and ended up 7-7...not good enough for post season play. Cubs beat Red Sox in World Series.

              Team Stats:
              .239 BA
              6 2b
              1 3b
              13 HR
              37 RBI
              12 SB
              26 BB
              104 K's (I know...)
              .338 Slug%
              .292 OBP%
20 GIDP (this was a problem)
              4 errors

My pitching was much better.... .271 ERA...11 HRs...27 BB...103 Ks

Mark T was by far the best player... .400 BA/3 HR/11 RBI.
Jeter and AROD hit .167 and .176 respectively

              Around the AL stats:
              Overbay........ .412 BA leader
              Ortiz 9 HR
              Ichiro 9 2B
              Crawford 9 SB
              Roberts 12 BB

I know that 14 games is not enough to base a slider set...but I was wondering if you would recommend any tweaks based upon the stats. I hit into a bunch of double plays...and 11 HR in 14 games is not bad. I think my stick skills contributing to most of the stats but .239 is low for the Yanks. I also noticed that stolen bases were high....but 2B and 3B low.

Just my feedback...can't wait for Knights final roster set to start a full season.

Thanks again for your time and effort.

I believe they work fine with either option. I use classic pitching myself and am having a great time.

All-Star, but can work for Veteran depending on your skill level.

Global sliders work exactly the same for all difficulty levels, while the rest are globally scaled for the difficulty, but there isn't some huge difference between Veteran and All-Star anyway.

I'm having some difficulty stealing bases and catching base stealers so far but these sliders are great for me otherwise.

Nittany some nice numbers there but as you say we cant really analyse 14 games too much but thanks.

bigal sliders do not affect simmed games i dont think, im not 100% but im pretty certain on that one, someone can correct me if im wrong.

AJ, doubles, im at about 1.7 per game, just about dead on, they are there aplenty, be patient

daniel80111, they can be used with either pitching method, im a meter man myself.

gminnick, absolutely SPOT ON, people play with a slider set for 2 games, win 9-1 and 7-0 and decide its too easy or lose 5-0 and 12-3 and decide its too hard, what they fail to realise is that my set is designed to provide the whole spectrum of games, but you will only come to realise that over time.

Lots of great feedback and nice comments, thanks guys, its truly appreciated.

im would really like to hear u... im struggling a lot with these and im evan willing on stop using the Left stick, and start playing your sliders like u do...i just cant stand hitting more hrs than doubles man...it makes Hrs feel cheap.
